Vince Vaughn Shouts Out 'Beautiful Wife' Kyla and Their Kids During Touching Walk of Fame Speech

"I'm so grateful for you and for these beautiful kids, and for all the laughter that we share together," Vaughn told his wife during his ceremony speech

Vince Vaughn is feeling the love from his family as he receives his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The actor was presented with the 2,786th star on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, on Monday, Aug. 12, and had his praises sung by both his longtime friend and producing partner Peter Billingsley and Bad Monkey co-creator and producer Bill Lawrence.

Vaughn, 54, then took the stage to express his support for his loved ones, including many who were gathered at the ceremony: his parents, Sharon and Vernon Vaughn, his two older sisters, his aunt, numerous friends — and of course, his wife Kyla and their two children Locklyn, 13, and Vernon, 11.

"My beautiful wife Kyla — so glad that you're with me on this now," Vaughn addressed his wife from the podium. "I'm so grateful for you and for these beautiful kids, and for all the laughter that we share together."

He added, "And as much as all this means, Vernon and Locklyn, and these honors, you guys really do need to know that you guys are the most important thing in the world to me."

"You're not as lucrative — you don't give me access to the stuff that this kinda thing does," Vaughn joked, "but with that all being said, you guys are the most important, and I love you both very much. It's great to have you guys with me."

The Wedding Crashers actor said earlier in his speech that he was inspired to get into comedy after seeing films like Animal House with his sisters, which made him "really wanted to be a part" of the "laughs I experienced in the theater."

"[I felt like] I could do that, and maybe make people laugh and give families a good night to discuss stuff and have joy," he said.

For Vaughn, the desire to bring laughter and joy to families stemmed from his own upbringing largely thanks to his parents, who gave him "the gift of storytelling and watching movies and laughing and talking about them afterwards."

In a release ahead of the ceremony, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Ana Martinez said in a statement, "The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor multi-hyphenate Vince Vaughn with a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."

"From his work on television to film, Vince has made quite an impact on the entertainment world and we are excited to celebrate his achievements with this dedication ceremony,” she added.

In his speech, the Swingers actor said, "I should be very humbled to be included here today in such a tradition, but the truth is I'm feeling pretty empowered," joking, "It's all going to my head. And I'm starting to feel like I got a full head of steam."

"Thank you to the council for including me," Vaughn added. "To all the fans out there that have supported me through the years, all my representatives and friends and coworkers that I share this with. I'm very grateful to be included in this."
