Who Is Kevin Gates' Wife? All About Dreka Gates

Rapper Kevin Gates and his wife Dreka Gates (née Haynes) have been together for over 20 years.

The pair got married in 2015, but they were together long before that. In a 2016 interview with The Source, Dreka shared that they had been together for nearly 14 years, going back to their teenage days.

Since they started dating, they have often been collaborators, working together on Kevin's rapping career and co-founding a record label. The couple also have two children: Islah Koren, born in 2012, and Khaza Kamil, welcomed in 2014.

Kevin has dedicated albums to his children with Dreka and made a song and music video solely about his wife, with lyrics that celebrate her strength and beauty. And Kevin isn't the only one with a busy career — Dreka also has a following of her own from her cannabis and beauty businesses which she shares about on Instagram and YouTube.

She and Kevin have been together for over 20 years

Kevin and Dreka have been together since around 2003 and the pair married on Oct. 17, 2015.

“Happy anniversary bae-bee!” Dreka wrote on Instagram in 2020. “17 years together, 5 years of marriage, and 2 little people later...I’m still proud and happy to call you my husband and best friend.”

Dreka has said that the couple have a very tight-knit bond. In 2016, the businesswoman told The Source that three months was the longest she and Kevin had gone without speaking to each other.

Dreka and Kevin started a record label together

Kevin and Dreka co-founded the record label Bread Winners’ Association in 2010. The entrepreneur spoke about working with Kevin on his career and becoming his booking manager in her 2016 interview with The Source.

“When I first met him he always wrote music and he was always recording, but he was just doing it in a room in his grandmother’s house,” Dreka said. “Then about 10 or 11 years ago, we were just talking one day and he told me he wanted to take it serious.”

Dreka noted that she researched the music business and talked to others in the industry for advice. “Then again, people in the industry shut you out,” she continued. “So you really end up making your own path, which is what we did.”

She has appeared in his music videos

In 2023, Dreka starred in Kevin’s music video for “Breakfast,” which featured the pair loved up in a wintry snowscape.

This was not the first time Dreka appeared in one of her husband’s videos, either: She also starred in the video for “Power” in 2020 and his video for “Dreka” from the same year, which is full of candid footage of the couple.

Dreka has her own social media following

Outside of her work with Kevin, Dreka has several of her own businesses.

She is popular on social media with over 3 million Instagram followers and more than 190,000 YouTube subscribers. On her channel, she posts videos about her businesses, motherhood and her daily life.

Many of Dreka's videos show her life on their farm, where she raises animals and gardens.

She’s an entrepreneur

Dreka also runs businesses beyond social media.

She has a cannabis shop called BE Provisions, which has multiple locations in Michigan. According to the brand’s website, “BE aims to nurture a positive cannabis experience through educating, inspiring and empowering those we work with and our customers, bringing positive change to the earth.”

Dreka also has an eponymous skincare company. The entrepreneur started her brand “to promote whole body wellness, so you can look and feel your best IRL,” according to the Dreka website. Her products include body oils, moisturizers, deodorants and candles.

Dreka shares two children with Kevin

Kevin and Dreka have two children: daughter Islah Koren, born on Nov. 30, 2012, and son Khaza Kamil, born on May 9, 2014. Kevin named two of his albums, Islah (2016) and Khaza (2022), after his kids.

In a 2013 interview with Complex, Kevin talked about his love for his children and his desire to keep their lives private.

"I got some children. I’m real real close with them,” he said. “I lay in the bed with them, hold them, love on them. It really doesn't make sense to say [how many kids I have]. Not in a bad way, but it’s not like the public will ever get to see my children, and if they do see them, they aren’t going to know they’re mine.”
