The talented duo became fast friends while filming the 2021 adaption of Frank Herbert's sci-fi novel. Since stepping into their roles — Zendaya plays Chani, and Chalamet plays Paul Atreides — their on-set collaboration has blossomed into mutual support and admiration. Both of the celebrated young stars continued to praise each other's talents while promoting their new sequel, Dune: Part Two. They've traveled the world for premieres and photo calls, proving their undeniable chemistry in playful moments and coordinated clothing. Luckily her pal Chalamet stepped up to assuage any worries about Zendaya's presence in Part Two. "She hasn't wrapped yet, and it's amazing," the actor told Variety in 2022. Sitting beside their costars Florence Pugh and Austin Butler, Zendaya detailed how she helped Chalamet move into his first apartment in New York City. "Well, the vibe was very teenage boy," Zendaya recalled on the talk show, describing Chalamet's initial set up. "And we just needed a few necessities — you know, cups and plates, knives and forks, things to clean. We needed some structure." After a trip to Bed Bath & Beyond in N.Y.C., the pair set up Chalamet's place with some essentials, like a bed frame.
