PIH partnership brings hope in Provinces ⭐️ PIH, its Laila Foundation, together with its partners, the Santos foundation, Hela’s Provincial Health Authority, and the National Department of Health have completed transformative cataract outreach programs in ESPHA Wewak, MPHA Lorengau Manus, and just recently, in Hela Province. The team of dedicated ophthalmologists have performed surgeries on patients of all ages, the youngest being 8 years old and the oldest, 96, putting an emphasis on the need for improving Eye care facilities in provinces. Hela Governor Philip Undialu has committed to buying the necessary eye equipment for the Hela PHA to continue outreaches and operate at the hospital when their ophthalmologist eye surgeon starts next year.
