𝗧𝗪𝗠 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁❟ 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱-𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀❟ 𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹 This week we proudly celebrated a significant milestone in the country’s approach to waste management . Hosted by our MD, Kori Chan and Group CEO, Michael Chan with special guest and keynote speaker, Acting Prime Minister The Hon. John Rosso. The occasion attended by over 120 key stakeholders marked the completion of stage one of a country first, world-class waste management strategy – that will provide the highest level of environmental protection for the treatment of hazardous waste in PNG.  Kori Chan, highlighted the significance of this and what it represents in his opening remarks. ‘The Total Waste Management Hazardous Waste Landfill is the first of its kind in Oceania, alongside Australia and New Zealand. It will introduce a 'global best practice' approach to compliant treatment of wastes with hazardous characteristics in Papua New Guinea’ he said. During his keynote address the Acting Prime Minister expanded on this and the importance of the occasion not only for the company but for the country, region and the global community. ‘This new Hazardous Waste Landfill will propel the country’s waste management capabilities locally and regionally, representing a significant step towards a sustainable future for the nation and its future generations to come’ he said. One of the many highlights of the event was the official unveiling of a commemorative plaque by The Hon. John Rosso MP. A moderated panel of experts including the TWM project team shared insights into what it took to deliver such a project to world-class standards. TWM’s Environmental Advisory and panellist, Gerarda Mark discussed the safety commitment and record during the project and shared her personal journey in TWM in the Graduate Development Program. In closing the panel, Michael Chan, Group CEO reminded us that the aim first and foremost is always to reuse, recycle and repurpose waste, hazardous waste is a challenge faced by every country globally, Papua New Guinea is no different.    Kori Chan left all guests with a powerful reminder that we are all custodians of this land Papua New Guinea. ‘We often say, yumi no faul man. Meaning, we know where our land is, we know where we belong. If we can no longer live on our land and be sustained by it, then it means we have no home, we have no identity, we have nothing. We must do all we can to protecting our pristine environment and our people’ he said. We thank all our distinguished guests for attending and our TWM team for preparing for and organising the day. #TWM #TWMGroup #wastemanagement #Worldclass #PapuaNewGuineans #sustainability #hazardouswaste #TWMEvents #PNG

It was great to be in Canberra last week at the PNG High Commission signing our scaling partnership with the PNG High Commissioner and Secretary of The Department of Provincial and Local Government Affairs. Our partnership is targeting several outcomes: - deploying decentralised solutions to improve water access and quality in rural and remote locations, targeting 88 priority districts across 16 provinces. - building sustainable communities with job creation, climate resilience and addressing key issues that limit progress in the areas of gender, education and health. - building a programmatic approach to project development , delivery and operation to maximise accessibility, governance and impact. Well done to the SOURCE Global team and our partners who have worked on this - in particular Peter Stevenson and Benjamin Lim! TWM Group Kori Chan Stephen Green #water #png #sustainability #climate

🌍🌱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 Another wonderful day contributing to environmental protection for World Environment Day on 5th June! This year's focus on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience aligned perfectly with our theme, ‘𝘓𝘶𝘬𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘮 𝘒𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪 𝘉𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘠𝘶𝘮𝘪’. Our activities included education sessions and a poster competition at Tuhava International, Roku, and Philips Aravure Primary Schools; and an environmental initiative competition for secondary schools, with a K2,000 grant for the winning school to boost their environmental programs. Congratulations to the 11A Class of Port Moresby National School of Excellence (POMNSOE) for winning the Intra-School Environment Initiative Competition! Their initiatives were truly inspiring, including projects like Compost Bins, Sanitary Waste Disposal Bins, and Recyclable Waste Bins. 👏 Well done to all students for their efforts and involvement! Students from Tuhava International Primary School were also challenged to write a special pledge aligned with the theme ‘𝘓𝘶𝘬𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘮 𝘒𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪 𝘉𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘠𝘶𝘮𝘪’ and to find ways to live this pledge in their homes, community, and school. The pledge will be shared at a special event hosted by TWM Group in July for the unveiling of stage one of the company’s latest waste management strategy, the first of its kind in the Pacific region. From our first WED initiative in 2015 – a small community clean-up – to a large-scale activity in 2016, and continuous participation each year, our staff have rolled up their sleeves to conduct waste collection, tree planting, and education sessions. We are passionate about celebrating this global initiative every year. Together, let’s continue to #ProtectOurPlanet and make a difference! 🌏💚 #WorldEnvironmentDay #GenerationRestoration #LukautimKantriBilongYumi #TWMGroup #Sustainability #EnvironmentalAwareness #CommunityEngagement #PapuaNewGuineans
