Happy National Heroes Day! 🫡 Heroes come in many forms. Some don capes and masks, others journey across the open seas, working tirelessly to help feed a nation. And then there are those everyday heroes who quietly make a difference through their simple acts of kindness and selflessness. To all the heroes among us, whether they are known worldwide, or in our personal lives, we salute you all! 📸 (c) Edwin Bacasmas #SunAsia #RenewableEnergy #FloatingSolar #SolarOnWater #NationalHeroesDay #HeroesDay

As part of the early stages of the Environmental Impact Assessment, SunAsia organized a public scoping with the directly impacted communities of Cabuyao and Calamba. Our team presented an overview of the floating solar project, outlined proposed actions, and gathered feedback, concerns, and other relevant information to define the scope of work and terms of reference for developing the Environmental Impact Statement. At the open forum, all the invited stakeholders played an active role in the discussion. They raised significant questions and expressed their concerns about how the project would impact the local community, specifically emphasizing the fisherfolk. In addition to raising these concerns, they also offered valuable input and comments regarding the floating solar project. #SunAsia #RenewableEnergy #FloatingSolar #SolarOnWater

‘How does a floating solar work?’ 🤔 ☀️ A floating solar system has solar panels placed on water instead of land. It is attached to floaters to keep the panels above water. ☀️ The structure employs standard solar panels and inverter equipment to harness sunlight and convert it into electricity. ☀️ The electricity generated is transported to the onshore grid via cables connected to the floating system. #DidYouKnow The Philippine Energy Transition Plan (PETP) constitutes an important component of the Philippine Energy Plan 2023 to 2050. This strategic blueprint outlines precise strategies and operational approaches designed to facilitate the decarbonization of the Philippines' energy system, aligning with the objectives for transitioning to renewable energy sources. Following the government's commitment to transitioning towards more sustainable energy sources, the upcoming floating solar project in Laguna Lake is anticipated to make a significant contribution towards achieving the country's renewable energy targets. This solar on-water project is designed with a substantial capacity of 1.3 GW and is projected to power approximately 82,500 homes. This clean energy initiative is also expected to offset an estimated 1.4 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. #SunAsia #RenewableEnergy #SolarOnWater #CleanEnergy

In a recent dialogue, Ms. Geralyn Villarin, Secretary of Brgy. San Antonio in Bay, Laguna, underscored the significant advantages of the pilot project for local fishermen. She emphasized that the project has had a positive impact on the fish population in the lake. She emphasized that installing solar panels has not only provided a conducive habitat for the fish but has also facilitated their feeding with zooplankton produced by the panels. This, in turn, has led to increased fish populations and easier catches for the fishermen near the shore. This favorable result demonstrates the multiple ways in which floating solar systems contribute to environmental sustainability and biodiversity preservation in aquatic ecosystems. #SunAsia #RenewableEnergy #FloatingSolar #SolarOnWater

SunAsia Energy, in collaboration with the French company Ciel et Terre, is exploring local manufacturing opportunities for 2 million pieces of solar floaters. This initiative aims to create jobs and build the infrastructure for a green economy transition among Laguna Lake communities. Local producers have joined SunAsia in a dialogue with Ciel et Terre to discuss the challenges of building a new factory in the Philippines and delivering the materials in time for the 2025 construction of the world's largest floating solar project. The Philippine Commercial Office in Paris also participated in the discussion.   #SunAsia #RenewableEnergy #FloatingSolar #SolarOnWater

In May of this year, SunAsia welcomed the LGU and fisherfolks of Sta. Rosa, Laguna to our floating solar pilot in Bay. We presented the environmental and social benefits of our project. Sta. Rosa is one of our covered areas and we are committed to ensuring the city's involvement in the development of the floating solar in Laguna Lake. The participants were able to observe the pilot and engage in a discussion to address their concerns and questions about the project. During the forum, Mr. Cornelio Replan, President of BFARMC/MFARMC, and Ms. Geralyn Villarin, Secretary of Brgy. San Antonio highlighted how the pilot project has significantly benefited their community. They discussed its positive impacts on the environment, the reduction of the barangay’s electric bill, and the fisherfolks’ improved livelihoods, especially during the pandemic. #SunAsia #RenewableEnergy #FloatingSolar #SolarOnWater

#ICYMI Here are some key points from President Bong Bong Marcos’ State of the Nation Address regarding the energy sector. Marcos stated that the Philippines is steadily progressing towards its medium-term goals, particularly in the power services sector, as the administration consistently works to upgrade its energy capacity. He addressed issues such as power shortages, costly electricity bills, and the government's response to mitigate these problems. #SunAsia #RenewableEnergy #FloatingSolar #SolarEnergy #SONA2024
