Ron Hogan I'm captivated by the way Pijn effortlessly shifts from an epic, sweeping, Godspeed-type sound to hard-jamming riffs, sometimes within the same song.

Gary Davidson A stunning album with a range of post-rock and post-metal. It is dark and brooding as the songs flow tremendously together and even through a heavy atmosphere glimmers of hope shine through.

Never mind being the years best post-rock album, this could very well be the best album I will hear in 2024.

The band’s most abstract work, FLBOH is more reflective than their previous releases – moving away from writing toward a fleshed-out theme, and toward a pure aural emotive maelstrom: positivity tempered by a deep melancholy. Audio samples taken from a mountain of sources of the band’s life underpin the majority of FLBOH, but only peek through in the softer, sadder moments of the album, while the poem that serves as the introduction to the record lays out the broad moods found within: impermanence, perspective, regret, respite.

This one really goes deep. Tremendously heavy and bleak, yet crushingly groovy as well. You can easily see these guys destroying any venue they'd hit live with this. The heavy hitting slow to mid-tempo tunes are sort of tranceinducing. It's very easy to listen to it multiple times in a row or even get lost in it totally. mourner
