Collision Investigation Unit Responds for Vehicle vs. Motorcycle on Route 51

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police, EMS and Fire responded for a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle on Saw Mill Run Blvd./Route 51 shortly before 7:30 p.m.
The male motorcycle rider was found on the road unconscious and not breathing. He was transported to the hospital by EMS in critical condition. An off-duty nurse was in the area at the time of the collision and performed CPR on the patient until medics arrived. He was later pronounced deceased in the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with police. No one else was injured.
The Collision Investigation Unit responded to investigate.
The investigation is ongoing.
