SWAT Responds for Male in Crisis in Upper Hill Neighborhood

Summary:
At approximately 4:45 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 2 were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Blessing Street for reports of an adult male threatening a family member.
His family reported he was off his medications and behaving erratically. The male also had five active arrest warrants.
When officers arrived, he refused to exit the residence. SWAT responded to the scene and was able to quickly establish communications with the male.
He surrendered without further incident at 5:33 a.m. and was transported to WPIC.
