At approximately 6:45 p.m., Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the 1400 block of West Carson Street in South Shore for a reported four-vehicle collision.

The initial investigation shows a driver coming off the West End Bridge lost control of their vehicle and started the series of collisions.

Several of the involved vehicles sustained heavy damage and one was rolled over. All four were towed from the scene.

Three adult drivers, including from the original vehicle, and one child were transported to area hospitals in stable condition. The other adult driver declined medical attention.

West Carson Street was shut down in both directions while the debris was cleared. It reopened at approximately 8:20 p.m.

Zone 3 detectives are investigating the cause of the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
