LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) — Music legend Billy Joel spoke Tuesday afternoon about Justin Timberlake’s arrest for allegedly driving while intoxicated on Long Island.

The “Piano Man” was eating at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, the same East End town where Timberlake was arrested earlier Tuesday morning.

“Judge not lest ye be judged,” Billy Joel told PIX11 News.

Timberlake was arrested after police pulled him over for allegedly not stopping at a stop sign and failing to keep right twice, according to court documents. Timberlake’s mug shot was released Tuesday evening.

Timberlake allegedly had bloodshot and glassy eyes, smelled like alcohol, had trouble speaking, and was unsteady, according to court records. He told the officer, “I had one martini, and I followed my friends home,” court documents alleged.

Timberlake was arrested after refusing to take a chemical test. However, he isn’t the first celebrity to have a scrape with police in the Hamptons.

In 1992, Billy Joel and a Long Island commercial fisherman from the East Hampton Baymen’s Association were arrested and charged with catching striped bass illegally during a July 1992 protest against fishing regulations. The charges were later dismissed.
