We're excited to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Special Olympics Pakistan and the Institute of Professional Psychology at Bahria University Karachi Campus (IPP-BUKC). This partnership will focus on the Strong Minds discipline under the Healthy Athletes Program, aiming to enhance the emotional well-being of athletes with intellectual disabilities. The students of Institute of Professional Psychology department will volunteer in the Strong Minds screenings organized by Special Olympics Pakistan in collaboration with Taskeen. Chairperson Ronak Lakhani, Board Member Asma Hasan, and National Director Taha Tahir represented Special Olympics Pakistan for the signing ceremony. In an interview with MNATION, Humaira Kazim, who represents the Asia Pacific region on the Special Olympics Global Youth Leadership Council and is a Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP) athlete said: “I think being determined and resilient is our biggest strength… It also makes me a good advocate for others who are special… I met a boy who had Intellectual Disabilities (ID) who was bullied in my neighborhood. Some of the neighbors were laughing at him. I asked them, ‘Why are you bullying him?
