UAVOS INC. has recently launched the GOS-155, a specialized gimbaled camera designed for UAV-based ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) applications. The gimbal boasts a compact size (just 155 mm) and low weight (1.8 kg), making it ideal for mid-sized VTOL or fixed-wing UAS. Its lightweight design allows UAS platforms to carry it without sacrificing optical performance. The GOS-155 includes a 30x optical zoom HD visible camera (1280×720 resolution) for detailed visuals during day operations. It also features a fixed focal length uncooled thermal LWIR camera (1280×1024 resolution) for infrared imaging, enhancing mission success across both visible and infrared spectrums. Made from aircraft-grade aluminum, the GOS-155 withstands harsh environments and high altitudes. An automatic air pressure compensation valve ensures reliable performance. A drying cartridge removes moisture from the sensor chamber. The gimbal includes electronic stabilization, object tracking, and real-time target location (20 meters accuracy) using external GPS/INS. Scene and target tracking capabilities ensure persistent focus even in dynamic scenarios. The GOS-155 enhances the capabilities of surveillance UAVs, benefiting both commercial and security missions. Its sturdiness and stability allow users to capture well-defined footage with high accuracy. In the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, drones have become crucial tools for surveillance and targeted strikes. These small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), equipped with first-person viewpoint (FPV) technology, offer cost-effective alternatives to manned aircraft or missiles. However, a significant challenge arises when adversaries jam their radio signals, causing the drones to miss targets or crash. To address this issue, Los Angeles-based start-up Doodle Labs has developed anti-jamming technology. Here’s how it works: Doodle Labs recently introduced the Sense feature for its multi-band Mesh Rider Radios. Sense tackles interference issues in long-range, mission-critical robotics and connected teams’ applications. It enhances the datalink’s resilience, making it more effective in challenging environments. Commercially available drones typically use standard Wi-Fi frequency bands, which are well-known and easily jammed. Doodle Labs’ 11n Transceiver, combined with the anti-jamming capability called “Sense,” forms the “Nimble” solution. This technology specifically supports FPV drones in Ukraine, where jamming threats persist. Doodle Labs collaborates with drone manufacturers worldwide, including those based in Ukraine and allied nations. By providing anti-jamming technology, they enhance battlefield resilience and ensure that UAVs can operate effectively even in hostile conditions. In a significant crackdown named Operation Skyhawk, authorities in Georgia have dismantled what is believed to be the largest smuggling operation within the state’s correctional system. The 16-month-long investigation revealed a sophisticated operation where drones were primarily used to smuggle tobacco, marijuana, ecstasy, methamphetamine, cocaine, opioids, and pills (some containing fentanyl) into the prisons. This operation also led to the confiscation of dozens of weapons and over 400 cellphones. Governor Brian Kemp emphasized Georgia’s zero-tolerance policy towards activities that endanger community safety and compromise the integrity of correctional facilities. The success of Operation Skyhawk highlights the evolving challenges correctional facilities face from technological advancements and underscores the importance of ongoing vigilance and innovation in law enforcement strategies Read more at: 1. https://lnkd.in/gVrnhfc7 2. https://lnkd.in/dCx8a9qr 3. https://lnkd.in/e93DArNd . . . #DroneTechnology #PrisonSecurity #SmugglingCase #AerialSurveillance #OperationSkyhawk #AerospaceNews

Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) is exploring a Swarm Carrier uncrewed aircraft system. This system would launch from a C-130 and deploy its own drones. AFSOC plans to seek input on three drone types: Group 2 ISR Drone: This intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) drone could be internally carried and launched by the Swarm Carrier. Signature Managed Group 3 Drone: A stealthy drone deployed from a Group 5 UAS (the largest drone class) to act as a command node for a swarm. The carrier itself should be capable of launching as a palletized effect from a C-1301. Adaptive Airborne Enterprise (A2E): The concept extends the reach of special operators, allowing drones to operate in contested and denied environments with various capabilities. A2E systems can provide low-cost, expendable platforms while delivering high-fidelity targeting information.
