How can you optimize the performance of cloud-based databases?
There are multiple index types(B-Tree, Hash, Bitmap etc.) which we can create. It should be a planned decision to choose index type looking at your data type. This decision can significantly impact your database performance. Also try to keep your database and API/Application server the same network to reduce network latency.

How can you improve your code quality with SOLID principles?
OCP in SOLID is most critical I believe. It looks simple when you say extend, don't modify. But actually it requires a mindset to follow this principle for everyone in the team and strong code review process. Otherwise everyone in the team will follow their own perspective.

How can you estimate user stories without using story points?
I guess any team can estimate their work in an effective manner only when majority in the team have good domain knowledge and knows impact areas against the change they will be making in this sprint. Otherwise, if half or more than half members in the team don't have enough domain of the project and without measuring the impact you will always end up with wrong estimations or estimates will be influenced by the one or two members who have full domain knowledge. Mostly in this case junior or fresh people in the team can never hit the target.
