“COVID-19 impact is not a thing of the past – it is moving like a series of waves up through the system.” The pandemic may have ended but its effects on pupils and #schools are far from over, finds new Cambridge University Press & Assessment report by Tim Oates. The report, written for the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), cites extensive research showing the pandemic’s effects are deep, widespread and persistent, with different age groups affected in different ways. Based on research, including by Cambridge’s own research team, Oates identifies the key problems and puts forward solutions. Would you consider ‘flextirement’? 🕑💻 Our #CambridgeDictionary New Words blog defines 'flextirement' as an arrangement where an employee gradually reduces their working hours until they completely retire. Instead of working a full working week, flextirement allows an employee to move to a more part-time role and eventually shorten the number of hours worked over a certain period until they officially retire.
