Last week we hosted in Walbrzych the management of Eberspächer Sütrak GmbH (Eberspächer Group), which at the beginning of the year received a decision to support its new investment of nearly € 750,000 in an air conditioning production plant for buses. Vice President of the WSEZ "INVEST-PARK" Management Board, Krzysztof Hołub (MBA) talked to Oliver Wels - Executive Vice President, Felix Drahozal - Director Global Operations and Purchasing, and Tomasz Karg - Operational Manager of the Polish branch of the company, about the ongoing project and the possibility of our support in attracting and training new employees and cooperation with schools and universities in the region. On the former issue, we shared our experience, especially on behalf of our educational cluster, which supports entrepreneurs in creating patronage classes or organizing school visits to production plants for directional classes. The Polish Investment Zone is a programme implemented by all the Special Economic Zones to boost business in our country. Each zone is responsible for a specific area of Poland, and ours has been allocated the areas of Lower Silesia, Greater Poland and Opole. 📊 To ensure even economic growth for all regions, a distribution of the amount of PIT/CIT income tax exemptions was introduced for entrepreneurs who decide to make a new investment. The animation shows the percentage distribution of support granted by the WSEZ ‘INVEST-PARK’, both by region and by company size. The amount of support is calculated on the basis of the amount of the investment incurred. 🏭Example: If a small company invests €1,000,000 in the Opolskie Voivodeship, it will receive the possibility of an income tax exemption of up to €600,000 for a period of 14 years. ⚠️Company's headquarter can be located anywhere in Poland and the amount of the exemption will depend on where the new investment will be made. 🤔Do you see any regions or specific counties that should be supported in a different way? 🚘The automotive industry has set its sights on southwestern Poland as an ideal location for its plants. The proximity to the German and Czech borders, as well as the accumulation of technology, competence and knowledge, means that more and more companies are considering this region for their new investments. 🔋 The introduction of electrically powered cars has resulted in a change of direction for business and industry in the region, with a stronger focus on electromobility. Another important factor was the launch of Europe's largest battery factory for electric cars (LG Energy Solution Wrocław) and the arrival of many sub-suppliers nearby. 🏆This is how the ‘INVEST-PARK’ area became home to the largest number of companies in Poland, focused on the idea of zero-emission vehicles of the future (after the report ‘Electromobility as a key to Poland's economic development’. The cross-section of companies is truly impressive, and the roles they play embed them in all stages of the supply chain. Yesterday Świebodzice, today another subzone: what's new in Dobromierz region? The municipality is focusing on resilient development, which is ignited by investments by global companies in the region's industry. In 2022 Amazon acquired land for a logistics and warehouse facility, and in 2023 we issued a decision to support Bosch Polska (Bosch) €255 mln investment in a heat pump production site. 💡Let's look at how big and important these projects are: the two companies alone will employ about 2000 workers while ca. 5000 people live in the Dobromierz municipality. It means that these investments will have a huge impact on the local community. All investment areas have already been developed.
