Medical and Scientific Affairs Senior Scientist   (Poland, Ukraine, CIS)

Location –Poland, Warsaw

This role supports medical affairs excellence in the CEE region, providing leadership to drive business results, growth, and ensure Safety/Compliance deployment across Haleon. Collaborating with the Medical Affairs Director CEE & PL BU, the position directs strategy execution, ensuring medical goals are met through effective coordination with R&D and cross-functional partners. This involves extensive collaboration with various business functions, including R&D, Category Medical Affairs, Global Category Leads, Commercial Leads, Commercial Operations Directors, GMs, Safety, Legal, Toxicology, and Corporate Compliance functions

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide expert medical input to regulatory applications, new product development and clinical activities, and business development and acquisition initiatives 
  • Contributing to scientific and technical training of Haleon products and competitors. 
  • Provide scientific input to legal activities such as litigations, business practices evaluation and local policies development. 
  • Support customer enquiry systems which respond to enquiries and complaints 
  • Oversight of Medical Information, including Collecting, analyzing and communicating medical information trends to regulatory, medical, sales, marketing and commercial functions, enabling trend identification complying with all relevant regulations and professional standards   
  • Be responsible for medical affairs activities including but not restricted to: 
  • Develop and sustain a network of category relevant KEEs,  
  • Strategic business support based on medical concepts, ethics and consumers safety and well-being,  
  • Support and innovate scientifically substantiated and consumer appealing claims, 
  • Support to market information on data collection and analysis of Haleon products and competitors, 
  • Provide medical input to Haleon’s commercial and business strategy
  • Manage medical budget as per assigned category. 

Why you?

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Biomedical Science or Ph.D. ( e.g. Medicine, Dentistry, Biomedical Sciences or similar )
  • Medical Affairs industry experience operating in a commercial environment, preferably with understanding of Pharma, OTC, Medical Devices, Oral Care and/or Nutritional space
  • Strong, multi-discipline experience in medical including clinical development, operations, project management, safety, publications or other functions in order to act decisively to manage the operational needs of the Medical Affairs Community with minor direction.
  • Demonstrated ability utilizing influential leadership to manage projects and processes to a successful conclusion
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and influence discussions with others Excellent communication, influencing and negotiations skills.
  • Strong change leadership, ability and eagerness to challenge status quo; make quick decisions; and lead/operate successfully in an empowered organization
  • Fluent in Polish & English

Preferred Qualifications

  • High level of fluency in spoken and written Ukrainian
