Taking off two stars, because the app quality is degrading. I frequently experience jumps while reading articles, which seems to be caused by display ads that are out of current view reloading. Also, why swiping left or right anywhere in the article should take you to the previous or next one? It's too sensitive and often interprets my scroll gesture as a left or right swipe. I'd allow this gesture only when you're at the beginning or end of an article, and do some UX research on its usefulness

Easy to use and well organized with no obvious bugs, great way to access the same content from the newspaper and website. The app sends an inordinate number of notifications - I don't need a notification for every single article. I'm sure I could turn this off or edit the settings, but I can't really be bothered so I'll just complain here :) Edit: something wrong with scrolling as of late, when I am reading an article sometimes the page will jump around and freeze up. Seems fixable.

Since the August 2024 app update, the app does not maintain persistent audio controls on my Pixel 7. As a result, I cannot control audio playback with any Bluetooth ear buds. Reinstalling the app doesn't fix the problem. The podcast is not a solution because the podcast doesn't have time stamps. Audio control persistence and podcast timestamps have been frequent problems over the past few years, so please fix them immediately.
