What Makes a Hot Poker Table?

Any cash game – regular play or fast-forward – can be a Hot Table. The software is programmed to randomly choose a cash game table that consists of three or more players. The randomness is verified by the RNG certification required to hold an online poker license in the states and provinces in which BetMGM operates. 

When a table becomes a Hot Table, a random amount of money is put on the table, based on the stakes in play. There are five levels, based on the stakes played: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. The prize amount can be as high as $1,500 (and $1,600 in Ontario)!

In the case that a table is selected as a Bronze or Silver Hot Table, the hand plays to completion. The winner of the hand wins the regular pot and the Hot Table bonus.

A table selected as a Gold, Platinum, or Diamond Hot Table will also allow the hand to play out. Then, the winner takes 50% of the Hot Table bonus, and the other players at the table split the other 50%, no matter the hand’s outcome.

The best part of Hot Tables is that there is no opt-in required. There are no special tables to choose from in the lobby, and the stakes included in this ongoing promotion are wide-ranging to include a large scope of the players on BetMGM Poker.

The fast-forward style of cash game play simply accelerates the speed of the action, as a player needs only to fold out of a hand to be moved to a new table. The games are faster, though they don’t provide much time to assess opponents. Fast-forward poker relies more on hand strength, stack size, and position.
