FGV gets top marks and remains national leader in IGC ranking for 13th consecutive year

Fundação Getulio Vargas has once again demonstrated excellence in education by taking six of the top 10 slots in Brazil in the 2022 General Course Index (IGC) ranking, released by the Education Ministry’s National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (INEP). All the courses offered by FGV’s schools that were assessed in this edition received the maximum possible score of 5. This means that FGV has now topped the ranking for 13 years in a row, underscoring the institution’s commitment to high-quality teaching and the training of qualified professionals.

The courses offered by the following FGV schools all made the top 10 in the 2022 IGC ranking:

  • 1st: FGV EBAPE - Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration;
  • 2nd: FGV EPGE - Brazilian School of Economics and Finance;
  • 3rd: FGV CPDOC - School of Social Sciences;
  • 7thFGV Direito Rio - FGV Rio de Janeiro Law School;
  • 8thFGV EESP - Sao Paulo School of Economics;
  • 9thFGV RI - School of International Relations;

The courses offered by Fundação Getulio Vargas’ other schools all obtained the maximum possible score of 5:

  • FGV Direito SP - FGV Sao Paulo Law School;
  • FGV EAESP - Sao Paulo School of Business Administration;
  • FGV IDT - Institute for Technological Development;

To arrive at its results, the IGC ranking takes the following aspects into account:

  • Average Preliminary Course Score in the latest cycle of the National Student Performance Exam (ENADE);
  • Average score for master’s and doctoral courses awarded by the Brazilian Education Ministry’s graduate education support agency, CAPES, in its latest assessment;
  • Breakdown of students between undergraduate and graduate levels.

“Following an evaluation of 30,000 undergraduate programs at 3,000 higher education institutions across Brazil, FGV has six out of the 10 best rated ones. This exceptional performance is the result of hard and collaborative work by employees, students, professors and managers, who make up a winning team,” said FGV’s Provost for Education, Research and Graduate Studies, Professor Antonio Freitas.
