Los/as profes de idiomas típicamente se enfocan en enseñar gramática y vocabulario en sus clases. Pero, ¿habías conocido a una profe que también fuera profesional en salud mental, traductora, y que tuviera experiencia en investigación científica, de forma que pudiera trabajar contigo para que tu perfil profesional y académico parezca más natural, experto e internacional?
En mis clases, trabajamos en conjunto para encontrar temas de conversación y escritura, en el idioma que necesitas desarrollar y que sean relevantes para ti, practicamos expresiones y vocabulario que necesites de verdad en tu campo de trabajo o estudio, y tratamos formas para entender cómo usar el idioma en un contexto cultural más internacional.
La idea es que nunca sientas que estás en una clase de idiomas ni en algún tipo de cátedra. En lugar de eso, es importante que te sientas confiado/a para expresarte, para presentar tus objetivos profesionales en una forma que tenga sentido para ti, y que tengas la confianza para practicar tus habilidades del lenguaje con una amiga que comparte intereses profesionales e intelectuales similares a los tuyos. 😉

Ich finde, dass Juliana sehr ruhig und konzentriert arbeitet, was mir sehr hilft. Ich habe Zeit zum überlegen, kann Erlerntes anwenden und auch kurz überlegen. Das ist vor allem am Anfang sehr wichtig. Sie lehrt sehr nützliche und umgangssprachliche Dinge. Ich bin sehr zuversichtlich, dass ich auch in kurzer Zeit und zumindest im bevorstehenden Urlaub einen Erfolg spüren werde.

I just started learning Spanish with Juliana, and she truly is an amazing teacher. She is skillfully able to juggle between excellent French & English languages, as reference points in order to teach me Spanish in a personalized manner. Her words are always well pronounced, and her sentences are well paced. She also uses visual support while teaching new material, which makes it much easier to assimilate the content. I highly recommend Juliana as a teacher.

I help my students develop spoken communicative skills: I show them ways to structure their ideas, connect them and express them in more accurate ways. I use different materials and resources to address a variety of tailored topics.
I help my students face their first contact with the language by exposing them to its phonics, structure, and basic vocabulary in a safe environment. Next, I help them become aware of basic communicative goals, repeat language chunks, and reply in appropriate ways for the language and culture involved.
I help students to read for a practical purpose, to better understand spoken language by getting them used to our interaction, and to speak and write for a variety of purposes, and in a variety of formats and tones. I create varied materials and expose them to all kinds of topics. I also help them overcome small difficulties by providing useful exercises and repetitions during our lessons.
I am a native user of the language, from Colombia and have useful international and academic experience.
I help my students understand and produce the language and language aspects that will be evaluated (grammar, theme-based vocabulary, phonics, collocations...) for the next level they need to reach. I help them understand the structure of the exam, how to manage the time, and how to apply specific tips for writing, reading, speaking and listening.
I help my students express their ideas in a more neutral and/or professional tone: their routines, their goals, their needs, their background. I show them ways to better report this same information about others. I help them organize their ideas, and to become aware of their strengths and weaknesses so that they can refer to them in a more prepared manner.
I help students understand (read and listen) and produce (speak and write) new language, approach to grammar in context, learn theme-based vocabulary, practice phonics, and understand cultural topics and problems of international and English-speaking countries.
I help young learners between 8 and 20 years of age, with assignments, explanation of topics and exam preparation, on diverse subject areas such as Spanish.
