Hoi! I'm Rick, your dedicated language tutor with a passion for teaching and inspiring students. Born in Holland, I bring Dutch "gezelligheid" to each session, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. My approach focuses on not only effective language instruction but also motivational guidance to help you stay engaged and overcome challenges.

As an avid traveler and cultural enthusiast, I’m currently immersing myself in Thai language and culture. My travels have broadened my perspective, taught me new things, and allowed me to connect with people on a deeper level. I believe stepping outside comfort zones leads to personal growth and happiness.

When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy reading, hiking, trying new foods, philosophy, coffee, and meditation. I hope my journey inspires you to explore, connect, and find joy in new experiences.

My lessons combine traditional methods with innovative techniques, using self-created interactive tools for a dynamic learning experience. I tailor the method to your needs, depending on why you want to learn or improve your Dutch. We focus on real-life situations to boost your confidence and proficiency. With experience in diverse fields, from government to PR to IT to teaching, I bring practical understanding to our lessons, making Dutch relatable and engaging. As a frequent traveler and current expat in Thailand/Vietnam, I love helping you understand another language, enhancing your life abroad and enabling conversations with people who don't speak your language.

Dutch for beginners

I enjoy teaching beginners a lot. As a beginner you start from scratch! And that is super exciting! I've taught languages for years and helped many beginners, like yourself, level up in a pace comfortable to them. Usually beginners are stunned by the quick progression! There is one thing to keep in mind; You have to be the one to put in the effort everyday - everybody has 10 minutes somewhere throughout the day! Conversational Dutch

Are you going to put in at least 1-2 hours a day for studying Dutch? I got you covered! From conversations to interactive exercises, from videos to books. This will require a lot of discipline - remember, practice makes progress!

I've had the privilege of helpen tons of people with preparing for their NT2 exams! It's always a lot of fun and a huge reward to receive the good news of passing the exams. Please be realistic in your goals of preparing and passing these exams. We'll first focus on assessing your level, then we'll create a realistic preparation plan together.
