About me

My name is Brian. I was born and raised in the United States in a family of French origin. As a result, French and English are my native languages, which has allowed me to better help students in learning the nuances of French from an English-speaking perspective.

I have been tutoring for the last 15 years in both academic and private settings.

I began teaching basic French to after-school enrichment classes Grades 2-5. I later worked for ten years with local schools, Grades 6-12, offering academic assistance and test prep for French levels I through IV, as well as AP. This was to help both struggling students and students looking to go into AP classes.

I have also spent several years working with a university to tutor French to students in one-on-one sessions with a focus on improving fluency and understanding grammar concepts.

My approach to French is global, encompassing reading, writing and speaking. This begins with learning the fundamentals of French grammar and vocabulary, then expanding to more complex phrases and conversations.

My gain goal with tutoring is to make the process as simple and relatable as possible.

Brian has been amazing to work with. I started during my French 101 class to help me have a better grasp of what I was learning and retain the information. My school instructor was using the ESpaces book which he is very familiar with and he helped me earn a 97 grade in class. Since my class has ended, I have continued to work with Brian through his recommended book and I am retaining so much more. He is a wonderful & patient tutor, I feel very comfortable asking him to repeat things if I struggle a bit with any thing we are covering. Highly recommend

Brian is a really great tutor, unlike any other tutors I have had. He Is calm/collected, organized, and very patient. Having autism learning new things can be really challenging, but Brian, he can tell when I get a little bit stressed and can judge the pace accordingly.

Excellent tutor, fluent in French and English able to thoroughly explain the nuances to a native English speaker so I can learn French with greater understanding. I highly recommend Brian if you want to learn French as he is very encouraging and supportive too.
