About the tutor

Hi! My name is Chris and I am from Liverpool, UK, but I live in Belgrade, Serbia, where I have a language school. If you want to learn English with a native accent, and would like to learn a clear, native pronunciation, then I am the tutor for you. Why not book a trial lesson and see! I have 5 years experience of one-to-one teaching, and a CELTA qualification.

Whatever goal you have, we can discuss and make a plan on how to reach that goal. I use active techniques, to develop the vocabulary and comprehension skills of all students by using appropriate, real world materials to show the English language in full context. An example of this is using up-to-date British or American news articles.

I am a native English speaker living in Serbia, so I also speak Serbian to the level of B1.

Giving lessons with conversation English usually focused around a general topic, or a specific one. Also we can use real world material such as newspaper articles to learn new vocabulary and phrases.
Business English
After an initial conversation about the goals of the student where we discuss the requirements for English at work, I plan a course focusing on relevant material.
IELTS
I have been giving IELTS training to students for 5 years, focusing on the more difficult aspects of the exam such as writing and speaking. We practice these by using real exam questions from the recent round of IELTS exams, and focus on particular grammar and phrases needed for each topic of the exam.
Intensive English
After an initial introduction and discussion of the goals, whether they be work or exam related, I will create a custom course tailored to your need.
British English
As I speak with a RP British accent, British English is my strength. We can cover many aspects, such as specific pronunciation using minimal pairs to establish a British accent from the foundation. Also, we can look at specific British idioms and phrases, including culture and news.
English job interview prep
I have a fair amount of experience in preparing students for job interviews which are in English. We cover the specific questions that could be asked for that specific job, and also general phrases and vocabulary that can be used to give a strong impression in the interview.
