Hello, my name is Fajar. I have graduated from the University of Indonesia, Faculty of Humanities, majoring in Dutch Studies in 2009. I have been teaching Dutch language lessons to Indonesian and English speakers since 2008.
Learning Dutch language and culture is a great pleasure to me as well as teaching this to people who are interested in it. Teaching Dutch has been a part of my life. It's a great pleasure to me to support people learn Dutch language for various purposes. I'm ready to guide you to make your learning fun, enjoyable and less stressful.
I have 15 years of teaching experience. I started my teaching journey as a Dutch private teacher to individuals working in a Dutch company in Indonesia.
I've expanded my range of levels by teaching more preparation classes in private to people who need to take the Integration exam for MVV conducted by Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Jakarta Indonesia.
I had also experiences in interacting with both Dutch-speaking children and adults when I was still working as a learning assistant at Netherlands International School Jakarta for 2 years.
To prove my Dutch language proficiency, I've been awarded the CNAVT (Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal) - Certificate of Dutch as Foreign Language at C1 Level by Nederlandse Taalunie.
I have completed an internship program to be a professional Dutch teacher at Erasmus Taalcentrum - Erasmus Dutch Language Centre in Jakarta for 6 months.
Ever since I have continued teaching Dutch language lessons in various language centres, providing both offline and online classes.
During my teaching sessions, I've been working a lot on practical daily conversations covering speaking, grammar, listening and writing skills. I deliver the lessons in a fun and interactive way, so that the students would engage and feel way more confident to talk using Dutch simple sentences in their daily lives.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Fajar as a tutor. He prepares his own material extremely well so each lesson is well structured and everything is explained clearly. Lessons go smoothly and at a good pace, and Fajar is always happy to adjust if something is too easy or too difficult for you. After only one month I'm already speaking some Dutch sentences with confidence!

According to the official CEFR guidelines, someone at the A1 level in Dutch:- Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.- Can introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know, and things they have.- Can interact with other people in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
According to the official CEFR guidelines, someone at the A2 level in Dutch:- Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).- Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.- Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
According to the official CEFR guidelines, someone at the B1 level in Dutch:- Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.- Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling- Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.- Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
I've had experience to teach Dutch language to children from age 8 to 14 years. I can provide lesson materials specially designed for children who need to learn Dutch as Foreign Language for communicative purposes.
