About me
¡Hola! My name is Laura, I am Spanish and I'm currently living in Madrid, in the past I was living in Scotland for almost a year and in Cyprus for 4 years. Teaching is my profession and also my passion. I enjoy learning through my students doesn't matter their age (kids, teenager or adults) I used to skate when I was younger I even was teaching skating adults and kids for several years, that was great experience! In my leisure I like to spend time with my family, specially playing with my daugther, I like reading and travelling. Discovering new cultures and having new experineces sum up what I am.
I hold a Bachelor Degree of Classical Philology, which means Latin and Ancient Greek, and a master's degree in Linguistic. I am teaching Spanish and other languages, as Latin or Greek, for about 20 years. I specialized myself in teaching Spanish as I took several training courses in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I am also DELE examimer.
I've taught from beginner to advanced students, either adults and kids. My classes are dynamic and focused on the student's interests and needs. During the lesson I encourage the students to work hard and do their best, not to be afraid of speaking with confidence whatever their level is. My methodology is listening my students and designing the lessons according to the way they enjoy learning.

My specialties
Most of my lessons are conversational, I teach through conversation. My method is adapting the conversation to the student's level and introducing new vocabulary and grammar concepts according on the conversation needs.
My first experience teaching beginners was in 2006 to a group of 15 adults in Cyprus, since then I have taught lot of beginners students, either adults, teenagers and kids. My wide experience gave me the opportunity to improve my method, I try to teach the language in a natural way learning, with simple and real materials, avoiding grammar explanations unless the student understand them, need them and ask for them.
Intensive courses are the best option when a student needs the language for a specific purpose and has a limited period of time to achieve it. In these cases I design courses very focused on thier goals, working that which is really relevant for them at that moment.
I am A1, A2, B1, B2 DELE exams examiner, I have prepared and delivered specific courses for prepare all levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) of Dele exams.
Children are very good learners if the lessons are planned with the right pedagogical approach. The visual learning is what I use in my lessons, I am a storyteller with them, we play together with our toys, we create with our hands, we free our imagination exploring the language and we just have fun together in Spanish.
I am Spanish native speaker from Spain, I studied in Madrid.
I've worked for several companies in Spain as Repsol or Hutchinson as Spanish teacher. In those companies I designed and delivered courses for business purposes.
