About PrepToolkit
The Preparedness Toolkit (PrepToolkit) is an online collaborative environment in which individuals from all levels of government and the private and nonprofit sectors can prepare for risks in their communities. It serves as a platform for technology toolkits aligned to each area of the National Preparedness System.
PrepToolkit provides an avenue to execute preparedness activities efficiently and easily and to share this work with others.
PrepToolkit is a secure, role-based system that is accessible over any internet connection.
Collaborative Environment
PrepToolkit enables you to easily share ideas, information, files, and data with your peers and stakeholders from across the Nation. Within PrepToolkit, you may:
- Join a Community to share ideas, challenges, and solutions with colleagues and peers.
- Share exercise planning and conduct information among relevant exercise players and stakeholders.
- Manage exercises.
- Collaboratively author a Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) for an upcoming exercise.
Interactive Tools
PrepToolkit provides web-based tools to help you with preparedness efforts in your community and agency. All of the preparedness tools are designed to align with national policies and guidance.
- Link exercises to the Core Capabilities and capablity targets defined in the latest Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA) guidance.
- Easily incorporate the guiding principles of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
- Access tools to aid in National Incident Management System (NIMS) resource typing, inventorying, and management.
Scalable Solutions
PrepToolkit is designed for use by the whole community. This includes agencies, organizations, and jurisdictions of any size and type that lead or support preparedness efforts.
- Access all capabilities over the internet with only a computer or other device.
- Plan and conduct exercises in PrepToolkit involving anywhere from 2 to 200+ participants.
- Use for one or multiple phases of the HSEEP exercise cycle: Design and Develop, Conduct, Evaluation, and Improvement Planning.
- Inventory resources in accordance with NIMS for single or multiple agencies.
