    Middle Township joined other Cape May County towns to approve a resolution calling for the state to move slowly and carefully in adopting new rules related to future development in the face of rising seas and a changing climate. While barrier island communities have been in focus, they heard from a consultant who said mainland townships would also see a significant impact, as proposed.

      New Jersey residents will get one in-person chance to speak their minds about new rules related to climate change under consideration by the state Department of Environmental Protection, along with two virtual meetings.

      Atlantic City International Airport and airports in Ocean City, Hammonton, Woodbine and Millville will receive Federal Aviation Administration grants to make improvements to runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, as well as terminal, airport-transit connections and roadway projects.

      Indicted Camden County Democratic political boss and insurance executive George E. Norcross III has kept a low public profile in the Atlantic City area, but that doesn't mean his influence here isn't deep and wide. While he has never run for office, or taken an official public role here, Norcross has been at the table when small numbers of people met to shape the future of Atlantic City, the county and the region.

      From its start in the early 20th century, Whitesboro ran its own affairs, functionally independent of the municipality around it, according to a local historian. Now, some people want Whitesboro to separate from Middle Township and incorporate as its own municipality.

      Long delayed work can soon begin along Lafayette Street in Cape May with an agreement between the city and a power company that has been working for years on remediation of a site where coal had been processed a century ago.
