BPI Expresso Imobiliario is one of the largest Real Estate website in Portugal.

Being a portal of classified advertisements that came to have close to one million ads in its Database, this was one of the most exciting projects I've participated in, not only because of the performance challenges required to meet the functional requirements demanded by the client , but also because of the backoffice components and interconnection with other services that the portal incorporates. I had in this context the possibility of leading the interaction of the portal with payment gateways, software houses to import ads and internal APIs of BPI bank. In this context, I was involved not only in the technical component for the solutions architecture, but also in the direct interaction with the client and partners, to help achieve the best solution. I was also responsible for the optimization and development of a statistical backoffice, which, being based on a DWH (Data Warehouse) system, allowed the customer access to numerous portal usage statistics, namely clicks, views and contact requests. I'm proud for having started to work on this system when it was taking more than a day to pre-process the data needed to present the statistics, and had it optimized to take about 10 minutes.


Having worked on this project as a software engineer and as a technical coordinator, I've gained a deep knowledge of the product as well as the associated business rules. Taking advantage of this knowledge, over the time I've have played different roles, often simultaneously, of which I point out:

Being the online representation of one of the best-selling newspaper publications in the country, this site was the target of an aggressive marketing strategy that required the teams involved in its production to be always ready to make significant last-minute changes. In this context, I was involved in a very attractive project that required a quick and agile response, with great focus and responsibility in meeting short and sudden deadlines. Being the online representation of one of the best-selling newspaper publications in the country, this site was the target of an aggressive marketing strategy that required the teams involved in its production to be always ready to make significant last-minute changes. In this context, I was involved in a very attractive project that required a quick and agile response, with great focus and responsibility in meeting short and sudden deadlines. Following a CD (Continuous Delivery) approach, I was the coordinator of a team that was developing methodologies and processes to ensure a good delivery in the required time.
