I have a question to Brand BGMEA why can’t we make such kind of team who will work on it with solid strategy? However, Rana Plaza disaster was a tragic event that highlighted the need for major improvements in the apparel industry's safety and working conditions. It's reassuring to hear that significant improvements have been made since then, demonstrating a commitment to better practices and the well-being of workers in the industry. Our success in establishing and certifying 200 green factories showcases a positive example of sustainable industrial practices. It's a testament to the country's efforts in promoting eco-friendly manufacturing and contributing to a more environmentally conscious future. Feeling guilty about that overflowing shoe rack? Don't toss those old shoes just yet. A brand new initiative in Australia is giving your unwanted footwear a second life, and it's a game-changer for sustainable living. Australia imports a staggering 110 million shoes annually, but only a measly 1% gets recycled. That's a massive amount of waste ending up in landfills. The sporting goods industry is taking a stand. The Australian Sporting Goods Association (ASGA) has teamed up with Save Our Soles (SOS) to launch TreadLightly, a nationwide shoe recycling program. 👉 Simply bring your unwanted shoes to any of the over 900 participating sports and footwear retailers across Australia. 👉 Collected shoes are sorted, stored, and then transformed into recycled materials. 👉 These recycled crumbs are used to create things like shock pads for playgrounds, sports surfaces, and even comfy anti-fatigue mats. This is a fantastic example of a circular economy in action. Old shoes get a new purpose, reducing waste and creating valuable materials.
