Peso Pluma, Carin Leon & More Lead 2024 Premios Juventud Nominations

Today (June 25), the nominations for the 2024 Premios Juventud were announced. The most nominated artists this year include Peso Pluma, Carín León, and Maluma. The awards will take place at the historic Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on July 25.

The three artists tied with the most nominations this year include Peso Pluma, León, and Maluma, with seven nominations each. As the top música mexicana star, Peso Pluma’s Génesis is up for Best Regional Mexican Album. He is also nominated for Male Artist of the Year. In that category, he faces competition from León, Maluma, Bad Bunny, and Sebastián Yatra. León is also nominated for Best Regional Mexican Album for Colmillo De Leche.

Colombian superstars Karol G and Shakira are the most-nominated women this year. They each received six nominations. Karol G and Shakira are both up for Female Artist of the Year. In that category, they face competition from Becky G, who received five nominations, Maria Becerra, and Anitta. Kali Uchis’ “Labios Mordidos” with Karol G is nominated in the Girl Power category against Shakira’s “Puntería” with Cardi B, Emilia’s “La_Original.MP3” with Tini, and Kany García’s “En Esta Boca” featuring Young Miko.

Along with Becky G, the Mexican-American band Grupo Frontera also received five nominations. Bad Bunny, Feid, Manuel Turizo, Bizarrap, Fuerza Regida, Farruko, and Ozuna received four nominations each. Latine music’s most-talked about couple Christian Nodal and Ángela Aguilar both appear in two categories each. Aguilar is up for Best Regional Mexican Fusion and the Perfect Collab for “Por El Contrario” with Becky G and her brother, Leonardo Aguilar. Nodal’s nominations include Best Regional Mexican Song and Best Regional Mexican Album.

The 2024 Premios Juventud will be hosted by Wisin, Lele Pons, and Clarissa Molina from El Gordo y La Flaca. The awards will be broadcast live from Puerto Rico on July 25 on Univision at 7 p.m. ET.
