Note: The work-up to the Annual Commemoration of our Day of Independence. The Framers had declared something of the sort yesterday, 248 years ago, but the formal Declaration was still in preparation for one of he great adventures not in our history, but that of the world. A documents project was underway here as well, […]

In 2016, I started work on The City on the Heights. While it might not have been the best book I’ve written (that falls to either the religious thriller The Hidden Agent or the unpublished Sacred Malady), The City on the Heights was the important book I’ve ever written. In The City on the Heights […]

The search and push for Ukraine to accept their losses in the Russian war against Ukraine by ceding parts of Ukraine to Russia may not be enough for Putin. [It means] that if I’m winning, that means you’re losing, and if you’re winning, that means I’m losing, so I better change that. There’s no such […]

01 July 2024 I spend a good deal of time trying to make sense of the war in Ukraine. Over the course of the last 28 months the war has changed, expanded, and is slowly but surely escalating as more and more ideas are creeping into planning cells: leaders in France, Poland and the Baltic […]

I probably have as much fun as the next guy with President Biden’s performance in the presidential debate last night. And the speculation about what happens now in domestic politics and the “horse race.” But then I started thinking about all the bad actors around the world who also got to see that debate performance. […]

Let’s Negotiate with Terrorists

Biden has offered his latest harebrained idea regarding the Gaza War:

Biden administration officials have discussed potentially negotiating a unilateral deal with Hamas to secure the release of five Americans being held hostage in Gaza if current cease-fire talks involving Israel fail, according to two current senior U.S. officials and two former senior U.S. officials.

Persistent and Growing List of Lies about Israel

While Israel slowly makes its way through Rafah, trying to assuage the international community with its promises to try not to kill civilians, the list of lies promulgated by outsiders and Israel’s enemies about their efforts continues to grow. Some of the lies are outrageous; others are bewildering and conflicting. But since the public is experiencing a great deal of confusion about what is happening, I thought I’d write about the worst lies and how they are being managed (or not). It’s also worthwhile to assess whether these lies affect Israel’s running of the war.

The first lie I decided to focus on was the accusations of genocide. South Africa, as ardent supporters of Hamas, made the charge to the International Court of Justice, only recently joined by Spain, a country that has demonstrated its hatred of Israel. Spain also recently declared its support of the Palestinians to be given an independent state.

“”Woe to the rebellious children,” saith the Lord, “that take counsel but not of Me”…”That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!  “Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the […]

The ANC (South Africa’s ruling party) has tried awful hard to make this election about Israel. It hasn’t helped. In fact, I think it may have hurt. With 36% of the vote counted (but major cities still to do + general African governing party games) the ANC and the EFF (commies) are having a real […]

They don’t want to get along with us

They don’t want to get along with us

Over the last few years, my views on geopolitics have definitely hardened. Russia’s Ukraine invasion and China’s growing belligerence in the Western Pacific have forced me to realize that America, and the West in general, simply won’t be able to reach a permanent accommodation with the two dictatorial states.

Rewarding Terrorism

Don’t you admire countries that reward Arab terrorists and then deny that they are anti-Semitic? That’s what Spain, Norway and Ireland would have us believe as they declare their support of a Palestinian state. Their justifications for this move are absurd and dangerous.

Many countries want to get on that bandwagon:

Biden Betrays Israel and Allies with Iran

Most of us were not surprised when Joe Biden began to back away from his support of Israel in the Gaza War. We assumed he was responding to the demands of his far left, to the Muslims in Michigan, and to the pro-Palestinian protestors. His focus is on the elections in November, and he believes that betraying Israel is his path to his success. And he’s acting accordingly.

The latest blow to the U.S.-Israel alliance has arrived in two parts. First, Biden has refused to send specific weapons to Israel if they invade Rafah (which they are certain to do). He has said that Israel must have a plan to reduce civilian casualties. Ironically, the weapons he is withholding are targeted weapons which reduce the damage and losses. The fact that Israel is publicizing locations for the Palestinians to avoid the fighting, through text messages, fliers and other promotions are apparently not satisfactory efforts to reduce casualties. The fact that Biden has not explained how Israel must respond to reduce victims is telling.

Today is Yom Hazikaron, tomorrow is Yom Ha’atzmaut (Independence Day). If you want to understand what Israel is experiencing, this commemoration is centered on immigrants and lone soldiers. It really isn’t meant for a non-Jewish audience, but I believe some Richochetti would find it touching. Preview Open

Yeah, the local UK elections went the way of the Islamists. But one has to wonder if maybe other factors (like a lack of conviction amongst the Conservatives) contributed to this. After all, despite being pilloried, protested, condemned etc…. the following countries all ranked Israel first in the Eurovision: UK Belgium (recently announced it would […]

Gazan Negotiations are a Waste of Time

Everyone has an agenda for continuing negotiations in Gaza—and they are all fruitless attempts to persuade all parties that their efforts are worthwhile. It’s become increasingly apparent that the negotiations border on the ludicrous, as lies, deceit, and manipulation become the strategies of the day.

And all the parties—Israel, Hamas, the U.S., Egypt and Qatar–are complicit.
