Chuck Schumer: Why aren’t You Blasting Biden Instead of Netanyahu?

Chuck Schumer has a lot of chutzpah, chastising Prime Minster Netanyahu, for multiple reasons. He thinks he has the right to tell Bibi how to run his country, how to run the Gaza war, and he is breaking the rules of how to treat an ally :

His speech is the latest in a series of high-level warnings and White House moves aimed at pressuring Israel and Netanyahu’s government to permit more humanitarian aid into Gaza and to rethink its war plans for Hamas, the U.S.-designated terror group whose bloody Oct. 7 attack on Israel sparked the war. The address also marked an unusually direct criticism of the democratically elected leader of a close ally, and sparked sharp pushback from congressional Republicans and from Israel’s ambassador to the U.S.

Is Joe Biden planning to attempt the overthrow of the duly-elected government of the state of Israel?  There’s an awful lot of purposeful “chatter” to that effect.  Even if this is just talk to placate the Jew-haters in the Democrat base, it’s beyond disgusting.  It will be beyond the pale if the Biden administration attempts […]

The Day After: A Unique Two-State Solution

The conversation about when and if Israel will call for a cease fire has begun to shift in an intriguing, yet concerning manner. There are those who believe that the greater part of the war in Gaza is finished, although there is still much to do. At least this is the belief of Haviv Rettig Gur in the podcast with Dan Senor, “Call Me Back.” When I think of the tunnels that must be found and destroyed, and the persistence of Hamas to resist peace in any form, I become skeptical that the end of the war is near.

At the same time, I read two different articles written at two different times by the same man, Daniel Pipes, who is an acclaimed scholar on the Middle East. I’ve been following him for years and appreciate most of his scholarship, but I resisted concurring with his belief in the possibility that there was any possible way that two states, Palestinian and Israeli, could be created.

I just saw a report that Victoria Nuland will be resigning from her post as Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs.  Here is the official announcement from the State Department, dated yesterday. Nuland is probably best known for her involvement in Ukraine policy, which dates back over 10 years.  She was involved in the Maidan […]

Biden May Sacrifice Israel, or Tlaib is Aiding and Abetting Terrorists

The people in Dearborn, MI seem to think that they can singlehandedly determine whether President Biden wins the election in November. With those who have joined up to sabotage his election run, including local Dearborn officials and Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who is essentially supporting terrorism, it could have an impact on election results.

But will the effect be as consequential as Democrats and Joe Biden believe?

Fascinating. Of all people to blow up the “Putin murdered Navalny!” narrative, he’s one of the least likely ones I would have expected to be interested in doing so. Question is: why? 🇷🇺Putin has a history of killing opponents Navalny died Everyone blamed Putin, some even before Navalny’s death was confirmed Even I assumed Putin […]

The Inevitable War

The world is being riven into two opposing camps. While some might see the distinction as between democracies and dictatorship, the reality is more complex. While the mechanisms can be skewed, Putin, Hamas, and even the somewhat meaningless Iranian president, did win elections. After all, even dictatorships wrap themselves in the cloth of democratic legitimacy. No, the dividing line between the warring parties is far simpler. It is a line between the Glory Seekers and the Pleasure Seekers.

The Glory Seekers are those countries and religious movements that are trying to recreate a glorious past (or fulfill the prophecy of a glorious future). China’s ever greater Greater China Dream is a part of recovering their proper place in the world. Russia claims ownership to Ukraine on the basis of shared roots, Ukrainians be damned. Persia lays claim to the Middle East and Turkey is making its historical moves from Libya to Syria – and beyond. For their part, Sunni Islamists pursue a futuristic vision of a truly global domination.

Truth and Lies about Gaza War Crimes

Okay, I get it: Joe Biden is upset because there is a war in Gaza, the Israelis are spearheading it (although Hamas instigated it), and the Palestinians are the victims of it (even though some people believe the Palestinians support Hamas). Plus, it’s an election year. Although Biden keeps wringing his hands and making threats in response to how the Israelis are conducting the war, he’s behaving as if Hamas had nothing to do with the war going on. Especially when it comes to accusations of war crimes, the spotlight is focused on Israel. Does Joe Biden even know what a war crime is? You can’t accuse an army of war crimes that do not exist. I thought it would be worthwhile to define war crimes and explain how they are overwhelmingly committed by Hamas, not by Israel.

But if we are going to blame groups for war crimes, we should have clear definitions for doing so:

Advanced western weapons are more effective precisely because they are more targeted… but the Dutch want to deny Israel access in the name of human rights. Israel will destroy Hamas. But if weapons like precision-guided bombs launched from F-35s aren’t an option then they may use tools like the domestically-produced MakMat-160. That would be far far […]

A Free Palestine Starts in Rafah

About 10 years ago I was at a bus stop on the outskirts of Jerusalem. It was 4:15 in the morning and there were only two people at the bus stop: myself and a Palestinian man about my age. He looked far, far older. His skin was weathered, and his gaunt body had the look of one that has been worked harder than it was really meant to be. I love talking to people, I love learning from them. And so, despite the fact that we shared almost no language, I did my best to communicate. The man was a Palestinian laborer who worked in Israel. His specialty was building playgrounds. I told him I was moving to Modiin and he told me he worked in Modiin. He showed me pictures of the playgrounds he’d worked on. I recognized one of them and showed him a picture of my children playing in it. I felt a little uncomfortable, an immigrant to a land he saw as his own, playing on something he built for the occupiers. Surprisingly, though, the man was delighted. Like any other proud builder, he liked to see his work well used. There was a darkness, though.

Somehow, I managed to ask him what playgrounds his own kids played on. He showed me another photo, one of his children. Every one of them was beautiful, but they were standing in a weed-filled gravel patch. “Ganavim,” he said, in the clearest words of the entire conversation. “Palestinian Authority Ganavim.” Ganavim is a Hebrew word. It means thieves.

Genocide Joe May be a Fitting Moniker

One of the latest slurs against Joe Biden has been calling him “Genocide Joe.” Pro-Hamas protestors are attacking Biden for his support of Israel, and their claim that he is supporting genocide is untrue on its face: the war in Gaza is not genocide. But the negative criticism of the positions that Biden has been taking in support of Israel indicate he doesn’t have global support:

Former Obama apparatchik Van Jones was on CNN Thursday, applying heavy pressure to Old Joe Biden to get him to end the U.S. alliance with Israel and abandon the Jewish state to the tender mercies of Hamas and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Today’s youth, said Jones, and remember, the children are our future and all that, have a cutting new nickname for the sinister old kleptocrat in the Oval Office: Genocide Joe. And if Old Joe doesn’t throw Israel to the wolves, and pronto, that nickname is going to stick. What Jones didn’t say, however, was the most important point of all: Israel is not committing a genocide at all, and this claim is a product of leftist and jihadi propaganda, to which young people today are disturbingly susceptible.
