We are continuing our growth course with a strategic acquisition: For our Energy and Building Technology business sector, the Bosch Group plans to take over the global HVAC solutions business for residential and light commercial buildings from Johnson Controls. As part of this transaction, we also intend to acquire 100 percent of the Johnson Controls–Hitachi Air Conditioning joint venture, including Hitachi's 40 percent stake. 💬 "As the biggest acquisition in Bosch history, this is an important milestone in the systematic implementation of our strategy for 2030. We are dynamically pushing ahead with the strong development of Bosch, and will achieve a globally leading position in the promising HVAC market with this acquisition," says Bosch chairman Stefan Hartung. 💬 Bosch deputy chairman Christian Fischer adds: "With this acquisition, Bosch will accelerate its growth and nearly double its sales revenue in the HVAC market to roughly 9 billion euros. Together with our future colleagues, we want to seize the huge opportunities offered by the market for the further growth of this new unit." 💬 "It is Bosch's aim to play an active part in shaping the innovative and growing market for energy and building technology, and to occupy a globally leading position. With this acquisition, we are improving our position, especially in air conditioning. In addition, we will be able to globally expand our heat-pump business and achieve greater economies of scale," says Frank Meyer, Bosch board member and responsible for the Energy and Building Technology business sector. Bosch intends to integrate the acquired businesses into the Bosch Home Comfort Group. Home Comfort is excellently positioned in the major segments of the heating market, of the heat-pump market, and of the market for heat pump-hybrid solutions, which comprise a heat pump and a fossil fuel-fired boiler for peak loads. 💬 Jan Brockmann, president of the Bosch Home Comfort Group, says: "With our successful heating technology in Europe, we already have a strong team and a sound foundation. At Bosch Engineering Center Cluj, we recently celebrated the completion of our redesigned Team Leader Development Program, which began in April and concluded in July this year. We introduced a new structure for this year with a journey-like approach, which led our leaders through three module topics. Between the interconnected sessions, which focused on the three critical pillars of Leading Yourself, Leading Others, and Leading the Business, we provided opportunities for reflection and sharing through internal coaching sessions. This celebration event also marked the beginning of their commitment to applying these learning points for further personal and professional development. This is the real challenge and the highlight of what is yet to come. At Bosch Engineering Center Cluj, we created the perfect setup for our colleagues to bring their families and loved ones at work. They toured our state-of-the-art offices and laboratories from Cluj-Napoca and Jucu, discovered the technology we develop, enjoyed engaging activities, and spent an entire day together. From zooming around with Bosch Future Mobility Challenge cars to drawing the future of mobility, we packed in a ton of #fun and #learning. They ventured into the Bosch Villa in VR, raced ahead with e-KARTs and eBikes, crafted our hearts out, and scored points in sports activities. They unlocked the mysteries of ECUs and ADAS functions, and had a blast with gingerbread, steering simulators, and fun electronic kits. Escape room, demos, and races kept our engines running for hours. 📚 Our colleagues from Bosch Blaj volunteered in a project supported by the Bosch Romania Foundation – Bosch Library, which this time aimed at renovating and setting up the library of “Gheorghe Dancu” Biia Secondary School in Alba County. With enthusiasm and dedication, our team installed bookshelves, swings for children, a desk area, and chairs, transforming the library into a welcoming and functional space for students.
