Carpets Manufacturing Based on the manufacturing technology of carpets: there are several types of carpet , and the most popular of them are : Woven , Needle felt , Tufted. More than 90 % of today's carpet is made from synthetic fibers. The majority of today’s carpeting comes in four primary fiber types: Wool, Nylon, Polypropylene (Polyolefin) and PET ( Polyester ). Each fiber has somewhat different characteristics, that will impact the carpet’s performance. For example, nylon carpets are highly durable, making them a great choice for high traffic areas. There are many types of synthetic yarn that can be used in carpets such as : BCF yarn are long continuous strands that can be direct weaved or twisted and thermally treated to form the carpet yarn. Heat set yarn is recommended for homes with pets, It costs a bit more but offers improved pilling resistance. Staple fiber is shorter than BCF yarn . The thickness of yarn can be determined by Denier ( the weight in grams of 9000 meter of individual thread ) 20 Denier means that the weight of 9000 meter is 20 gm . The higher the denier count, the thicker the yarn. The 3 styles of carpet are : cut pile, loop pile, and cut- loop pile .
