Dr. Jun Kohyama is the Chief Executive Officer of Tokyo Bay Urayasu/Ichikawa Medical Center Japan. He completed his PhD in 1990 and his MD in 1975–1981 from Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He was awarded the Young Researcher Award from the Japan Epilepsy Research Foundation in 2000 and the Juhn and Mary Wada Award (The Japan Epilepsy Society) in 1997. He was the Director of Tokyo Kita Shakai Hoken Hospital Japan during 2008–2009. He is a specialist in Developmental Sleep Medicine, Sleep Neurology, and Sleep and Modern Society. His research interests include examining long-term outcomes of early-life sleep, sleep as a result of daily life, and how eating, exercise, excretion, and sleep are all related to each other.
