Lu Xiong was born in 1978. He received a B.S. degree in mechanical design and manufacturing, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in vehicle engineering from Tongji University, Shanghai, China, in 1999, 2002, and 2005, respectively. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, from 2008 to 2009. He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Automotive Studies, Tongji University. His research interests include vehicle system dynamics and control, side-wheel/in-wheel motor drive electric vehicle control, design and control of electro-hydraulic brake system, and motion control of an intelligent/unmanned vehicles.
