News | Global Programme Instructions 5.0.0 is released 🧾 EPD International is proud to announce the release of the General Programme Instructions (GPI) 5.0.0, a major update designed to enhance harmonisation, clarity, and transparency in Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) procedures. Since the previous release of GPI 4.0 in March 2021, significant advancements have been made to refine and improve the rules of the International EPD System. GPI 5.0.0 offers clearer and more stringent procedures for rule changes, document version management, and data quality transparency. These updates aim to streamline the process and ensure consistency and credibility of EPDs. This release would not have been possible without the invaluable input from our stakeholders. Over 800 comments were received during the public consultation and licensee and technical committee review sessions, providing critical insights that have shaped the new GPI. News | New EPD Registration Number 🔢 📈 In response to the growing global demand for the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) to showcase the environmental impact of products, we have released a new format of EPD registration number to provide greater transparency and clarity. 📋 The new registration number will take form in the International EPD System (IES) and contain version update information in the last 3 digits. 🗂️ For existing EPDs, the owners will receive two registration numbers, in the old SP letter version and the new EPD-IES letter version. If users search for an EPD on our EPD library, they will arrive at the same EPD despite of using either the old or new registration number. News | The licensee contract of EPD Russia would not be prolonged after April 12, 2024 — a decision made in light of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
