The IndX Sustainability Day in Väderstad highlighted the latest sustainability advancements and innovations from startups. The day gathered industry leaders and entrepreneurs to explore solutions for Industry 4.0. With Johan Von Mecklenburg, Elin Iseskog, Nina Pettersson welcoming us to Väderstad AB and introducing us to the day we got to learn all about their sustainability work and the power of carbon farming. Five startups were invited to present for IndX corporates: Francesco Zanin from Elementag, Italy, presenting their nano marker technology for traceability and authentication in materials, and using XRF as a detector.   Magdalena Stelmach, Redigo Carbon from Poland, showcased their AI-powered platform for measuring carbon footprints that can be integrated into existing systems. Folke Bosund, Energy Sourcing Technology (ensotech.se), by using power grids, can manage electricity costs, consumptions, and contracts through their platform. Northouse, presented a platform that can support managing documents and regulations. Presented by Julia Haglind. Viet-Anh Pitaval and Viktoria Kindesjö from Elain - Data driven insights for greener transport had a solution for tracking greenhouse gas emissions on the logistics market. A coffee break gave an opportunity for participants to network and discuss the presentations, followed by “speed dating” sessions, lunch, and an outdoor tour – providing the “real Östgötaslätten-experience” as we got to learn more about Väderstad’s machines and products out on the fields. Väderstad has finished the construction of the expansion of the factory in Väderstad with an additional 12,600 square meters. During the second half of 2024 the new premises will be fully installed with a new paintwork station and additional assembly lines. The aim is for an annual production capacity of 10,000 machines in Väderstad. The whole agricultural sector is currently struggling. Grain prices have declined, interest rates are high, uncertainty and volatility has increased due to geopolitical conflicts and climate changes. Väderstad is no exception. But looking ahead, we still see a positive long-term development for agriculture as a whole and for Väderstad as a company. To ensure a production capacity that goes hand in hand with demand, the expansion of the factory in Väderstad by another 12 600 square meters was started in 2023. – The continued expansion of our factory in Väderstad is in line with our long-time growth targets, and will benefit both our customers, our dealers and over time help create more job opportunities – as well as create a more efficient flow in our production, says Henrik Gilstring, CEO of Väderstad Group.

Väderstad Tour 2024 är här! Under kommande veckor välkomnar vi nära 2000 lantbrukare från när och fjärran för att visa upp vårt familjeföretag. Lantbrukarna får lära sig om vår produktion, historia och se maskinerna i fält. Kvällen avslutas med lekar och middag och en svenskt kulturlektion i hur midsommar firas i Sverige! Väderstad AB

I sommar är det återigen dags för Code Summer Camp på Linköping University, en höjdpunkt för barn och unga som vill lära sig mer om teknik. Vi på Väderstad AB är med och bidrar. Code summer camp är en unik möjlighet för barn och ungdomar i åldrarna 7-17, att utforska teknikens värld på ett roligt sätt, utan att behöva förkunskaper. Målet med lägret är att väcka en nyfikenhet för teknik och inspirera för fortsatt lärande inom området. Deltagarna får chansen att gå på inspirerande möten med företag inom teknikbranschen, prova på bland annat Scratch, Python och webbprogrammering och samtidigt skapa nya vänskapsband. Väderstad AB är glada att vara en del av Code Summer Camp, där bland annat Susanne Frank kommer ha en 30 minuters föreläsning om cyber security. Lägret pågår måndag till fredag under veckorna 25,26 och 27 på Linköpings universitet där varje vecka är anpassad för olika åldersgrupper. Förra året deltog 265 barn och ungdomar där både barn och föräldrar var nöjda. Detta är en fantastisk möjlighet för barn och ungdomar att inte bara lära sig om teknik utan också få skapa nya minnen och erfarenheter. Intresseanmälan stänger nu på fredag den 19 april kl.17.00 och platserna reserveras för hälften tjejer och hälften killar genom lottning.

I fredags hade vi på Väderstad nöjet att välkomna 20 unga besökare till Väderstad för att ge dem en bild av vad en ingenjör kan jobba med på Väderstad. Vi hoppas att flera av dem ska välja ingenjörsyrket – och i framtiden gärna komma och arbeta med oss för att göra världens matproduktion mer effektiv och hållbar.

Field stoves from Väderstad highlighted at NATO conference. The theme of the conference was “Public-Private Cooperation in Securing Critical Supplies – Supporting Alliance Resilience”. The seminar drew around 300 guest from both Sweden and other countries, representing both authorities and private enterprises. – We were asked by MSB who previously heard us talk when visiting the governor of Östergötland about our production of field stoves for Ukraine. We received a lot of positive attention from the visitors around Morgan Collins simple yet brilliant field stove and the fact that our employees weld the field stoves in their free time – and that many of our suppliers have donated a lot of the material to help produce the field stoves, says Susanne Dalskog, VP Communication and Väderstad’s representative at the conference.
