    In order to achieve the turn and twist motion of vertical break disconnector the current carrying alumiunum conductor was mounted on heavy rotating lever made of steel which acts as rotating shaft or pivot. This arrangement of assembly led to higher assembly time, multiple number of components, higher material consumption and ultimately product cost was increased.
    In order to reduce this complexity the new design was developed and implemented for DDV145 vertical break disconnector product…

    In order to achieve the turn and twist motion of vertical break disconnector the current carrying alumiunum conductor was mounted on heavy rotating lever made of steel which acts as rotating shaft or pivot. This arrangement of assembly led to higher assembly time, multiple number of components, higher material consumption and ultimately product cost was increased.
    In order to reduce this complexity the new design was developed and implemented for DDV145 vertical break disconnector product. The new design eliminates the intermediate heavy rotating lever made of steel. New design proposes to directly use the circular aluminum current carrying conductor as a rotating pivot itself. In the new design the aluminum conductor not only conducts the rated current but also acts as rotating pivot for turning and twisting motion. The new design eliminates the intermediate steel pivot, related hardware and hence the reduction of assembly time, material consumption, complexity and cost is achieved.
