Looking to unwind in nature before your next flight? Check out the newly revamped Cactus Garden at Terminal 1’s transit. Travellers can soak up the sights of over 200 plant species mostly made up of cactuses and succulents, including the rare ‘golden barrel cactus’ collection. #FunFact: Cactuses at Changi Airport require special care due to their unique needs. They need less frequent watering and fertilisation, thriving in bright, warm, arid conditions. During transplanting, our horticulturists have to carefully wrap cactus branches to prevent breaking, and don sturdy gloves to protect their hands against the fine needles. The next time you travel through Changi, give this prickly paradise a visit!

For Mohamed Shadiq Bin Shawall Hamid, #technology is his passion for as long as he could remember. His keen interest in computing and the internet stretches all the way back to his childhood. The ‘good, old days’ — where dial-up service, slow loading speed were the norm. Curious about what goes on in the vast network of signals, and how to improve the user experience, Shadiq pursued a degree in computer science. Later, this keen interest would fuel his passion in his career. Now, an Associate General Manager in CAG’s Enterprise Digital Ecosystem & Business unit, he heads a dedicated team focused on B2C portals and e-commerce, driving the digital transformation of #ChangiAirport. Recently, Shadiq was appointed an SG Digital Leader by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority. It opens the door to mentorship and coaching by industry leaders. In turn, this provides insights on how new digitech opportunities can be adopted into CAG. “At CAG, #innovation is not just a buzzword, but a culture. We enhance our skills, systems, and technologies continuously, ensuring that CAG remains at the forefront of industry advancements and maintains a competitive edge. Learning and exploration are as important as results and performance. We encourage creative thinking and the use of AI to strengthen the way we work. This helps us to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment – for the unwavering goal of delivering top-class experience to our customers in the digital realm.” #CAGTechTalk #FacesofChangi #CAGMagicMakers #MAGIC #IMCAG

Adi Sufian Roslan is a self-professed #avgeek who has had a passion for aviation since young. As a child travelling though Changi Airport, he had already wanted to know how the airport worked. This is why when he heard about an opportunity in CAG’s Airside Professional Shift Team (APST), he leapt at the chance to join. The APST comprises multi-faceted airside specialists who manage real-time ops in Changi Airport’s aircraft maneuvering areas. Team members are trained in a variety of disciplines, including aircraft gate allocation, runway and taxiway safety management, and wildlife control and dispersion. They work closely with airport partners like the air traffic controllers, airlines, and their ground service providers to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for passengers and flight crews. This ability to improve our passengers’ Changi Experience is what Adi finds most meaningful about his job. He says, “For example, when I’m allocating a gate to an incoming plane with a heavy transfer load and short connection time, I try to assign it somewhere to reduce the walking distance for the connecting passengers.” Keen to be part of this team and make a difference to the Changi Experience? Head to changi.me/apstli24 to learn more, and scroll through the carousel below to find out more about the role from Adi. #CAGCareers #CAGMagicMakers #FacesOfChangi #IMCAG #MAGIC #Airside #aviation

Earlier this week, we held our annual Town Hall with all CAG colleagues. It was not only a platform for us to provide an overview of our performance over the past financial year, and re-affirm our strategic priorities for the next one, but also a great opportunity for colleagues from across the company to reconnect with one another. This year's Town Hall was extra-special as it was the last one for CEO Lee Seow Hiang, who will be succeeded by Executive Vice President, Airport Development Yam Kum Weng on 1 July. We had a special appreciation segment for Mr Lee, capped off with a presentation of a photo album chronicling his 15 years at CAG's helm. We thank Mr Lee for his exceptional leadership, and at the same time, we look forward to continuing our journey of success and innovation with Mr Yam. #MAGIC #IMCAG

Changi Airports International Pte Ltd (CAI) has sealed an exciting partnership to work on Conakry International Airport in Guinea’s bustling capital city! Last month, our consultants were on the ground partnering closely with SOGEAC, the state-owned operator, to review and refine a proposal aimed at expanding and operating the airport under a concession model. Besides a visit to the construction site, the team dove into face-to-face meetings. They dug deeper into the core factors driving the business case, and engaged with commercial operators to assess the challenges and potential for growth. Amid the rigorous schedule, the team took the chance to embrace the unique culture and rich nature of Guinea. They explored a 16-acre plantation brimming with crops such as cashew, mango, papaya, peanuts, and pineapples. They were also introduced to the exotic taste of baobab fruit juice and the local superfood fonio, an important crop in West Africa. The trip was a vibrant blend of knowledge exchange, cultural immersion, and expert collaboration – emblematic of CAI’s dedication to partner, and elevate, airports worldwide. #AirportConsultancy
