INSOL International is a world-wide federation of national associations of accountants and lawyers who specialise in turnaround and insolvency. There are currently over 44 Member Associations with over 10,000 professionals participating as members of INSOL International. Individuals who are not members of a member association join as individual members. INSOL also has ancillary groups that represent the judiciary, regulators, lenders and academics. These groups play an invaluable role within INSOL and provide valuable forums for discussions of mutual problems. INSOL International and the International Insolvency Institute are delighted to invite your law school to compete in the Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot (the Fletcher Moot). The Fletcher Moot welcomes universities from around the world to participate in a mooting competition dealing with international insolvency litigation. The competition provides a unique opportunity for students to experience real-world court proceedings before prestigious panels of international judges. The competition consists of two stages; written and oral. Your law school may register at no cost to be considered in the written submissions stage. Up to 16 teams will then be selected to qualify for the oral rounds which will take place in a virtual online format in February 2025, a registration fee of GBP300 applies at this stage. The competition regularly attracts over 30 teams from all over the world. We pride ourselves on running a friendly but intellectually rigorous competition which gives a real insight into this fascinating and important area of law, as well as honing the advocacy skills of competing students.
