KPMG in Singapore is excited to announce the launch of the Advanced Programme on Sustainability for Listed Entity Directors, co-developed in partnership with the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) and supported by the Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX RegCo), at the inaugural Climate Governance Singapore (CGS) Forum. Gracing the event was guest-of-honour Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Dr Amy Khor. With increasing shifts toward holistic corporate sustainability and governance, leadership plays an important role in implementing sustainable practices to steer their organisations through the complex interplay between tax requirements and ESG expectations. The new programme is designed to equip directors with advanced knowledge and skills in #sustainability as adoption of #ESG practices mature in Singapore. The CGS Forum sought to address critical issues surrounding #climategovernance, bringing together business leaders and policy makers. At the forum, our experts shared insights on the subject of ESG’s impact on #tax with more than 120 representatives of multinational businesses, startups, professional firms, regulators, financial institutions, listed companies, local enterprises and academic institutions. From environmental taxation on the energy transition, to environment-related incentives, from trending tax developments such as #BEPS to its impact on tax compliance and reporting, it was a fulfilling session for attendees.
