The National Heritage Board's inaugural Youth Panel has launched Singapore’s first-ever Youth Heritage Blueprint which captures Singapore youths' perspectives, insights and recommendations to better connect them with their heritage. For the Youth Heritage Blueprint, the Youth Panel, which comprises 36 students and young working adults, sought the views of 1,000 young people over a period of one and a half years in five focus areas: museums and programmes, physical touchpoints and digital content, marketing and communications, access and participation, and collaborations and partnerships. NHB, ICOM Singapore and the Museum Roundtable's International Museum Day Symposium returns for a fully physical edition on 16 May 2024, to be held at the Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium at the National Gallery Singapore! The theme for the International Museum Day Symposium 2024 is “Museums, Education and Research” which follows the theme for International Museum Day this year. The Straits Times reported on our Heritage Grants Scheme today. Since 2013, over $15 million has been awarded to community-led projects which promote local heritage. Projects that have been supported were very wide-ranging and include exhibitions, galleries, publications, documentaries, festivals, workshops, trails and more. Applications are open from now until April 15, and a second tranche of applications will run from August 4 to September 15. We are pleased to have formally convened the NHB Digital Advisory Panel to help guide us in our digital transformation and innovation journey. The expert panel is comprised of professionals who are as passionate about heritage and museums as we are, and we would like to thank and welcome Richard Koh, Jason Leow, Loic Tallon, Gaurav Keerthi and Jonathan Leck (陸文克) who have generously contributed their time and provided their ideas, insights and perspectives to help us do better and innovate with purpose.

Even as 2023 closes, we are taking a look back at our annual Accessibility and Inclusivity Month (AIM) programme which was held from 31 October to 1 December 2023. For this year's edition, nearly 200 participants from agencies both within and outside the museum sector enjoyed an expanded scope of programmes to learn more about best practices in the areas of accessibility and inclusivity, which also covered mental health and well being. In total, five learning journeys and two workshops were conducted by professionals from five of our Museum Roundtable members, including ACM (Asian Civilisations Museum), National Gallery Singapore and Singapore Art Museum, and two healthcare sector partners Agency for Integrated Care (Singapore) and Singapore Association for Mental Health. We look forward to another exciting year of learning and developing in 2024. Happy New Year to all!

We were honoured to have hosted the 2023 Annual Conference of the ICOM CECA International Committee for Education and Cultural Action from 20 to 24 November. The theme for this year's conference was "Museums: Shaping the Future of Education" and its focus was to develop and deepen museum educators' competencies in areas such as shaping "classrooms" that will be relevant for the future, considering how to make offerings more inclusive, and forging partnerships with relevant stakeholders to do so. 200 international participants attended and were greatly enriched by presentations, workshops and learning journeys to many of our Singapore museums such as National Gallery Singapore, Singapore Discovery Centre and Science Centre Singapore!
