Homegrown Humanitarian Organisation. Serving Humanity & Saving Lives since 1949.

About us

The Singapore Red Cross is a homegrown humanitarian organisation dedicated to relieving human suffering, protecting lives and dignity and responding to emergencies. We serve the vulnerable through our blood donor programme, Home and Day Activity Centre for the Disabled, community befriending, medical chaperone and transport service, Meals with Love, and Community First Aid, and we build capacity and resilience through our training academy, and volunteer and youth development. Beyond our shores, we mobilise and translate contributions from the donor community to relief and recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts, with the aim of helping communities affected by disasters. Here are some ways to give and get involved with the Red Cross: Become an Employee: You can make a difference every day. No matter what your interests are, you'll find something that you enjoy at the Red Cross. Work with us to mobilise the Power of Humanity. Volunteer: You can make a difference, by volunteering your skills or time. For instance, you can comfort an isolated elder or teach first aid to children. Whether you are interested in community services or international services, you'll find something of interest. Donate: You have the power to make a difference in someone's life. All you have to do is make a contribution. Every donation at redcross.sg helps provide services to the vulnerable. Give Blood: You can be a lifeline for patients who need blood transfusions. Even if you can’t give, you can spread the word or help organise a blood drive. Visit giveblood.sg to find out more!

Earlier this month, we gathered volunteers, donors, corporate partners, civil servants, Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) Movement representatives and members of the public at the 9th Singapore Humanitarian Conference. Themed 'Hands Unite, Hearts Ignite: Action with Compassion', the Singapore Humanitarian Conference underscored the shared commitment to fostering a more compassionate and resilient community. Highlights included a dialogue with Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education and Minister-in-charge of the Public Service, keynote sharing by founder of ItsRainingRaincoats Ms Dipa Swaminathan, and a panel with esteemed speakers from the IFRC, Afghan Red Crescent, Turkish Red Crescent, and Thai Red Cross. WATCH: Did you catch our volunteers in action on the news last week? 👀 Volunteers from our Disaster Management team took part in FEREX 2024 on Friday, administering first aid to casualties during the simulated exercise. During emergencies, the Singapore Red Cross has a part to play in supporting needs — part of that involves mobilising first aiders to respond in times of disasters. This is why we're involved in civil emergency exercises during peacetime, to enhance community preparedness and strengthen resilience here in Singapore.

Thank you to our #PartnersForHumanity XM for generously sponsoring 50 of our senior beneficiaries for the Gin Thye Culture Workshop experience. They had an amazing time learning how to make mooncakes, exploring the rich history of Gin Thye through a guided walking tour, and enjoying a delightful shopping experience to end the day. Our seniors had so much fun, and it was truly a unique and memorable experience for all. Your support means the world to us! Ready to make a difference? Join us in creating meaningful impact through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Whether it's empowering communities, championing sustainability, or fostering mental and physical wellness, let's work together to build a more resilient society. Get in touch at [email protected] to make a donation or fundraise for us today! 📸 by Lai Wei Song, volunteer photographer #sgredcross

Last Monday, we hosted Southeast Asia National Societies for the third Better Together Dialogue. This bi-annual event brings everyone together to provide their perspectives and inputs on initiatives (including initiatives by SRC) for Capacity Building, as well as on how we can continue to work together to strengthen our regional capacity in response to an increasingly volatile and unpredictable world. It was a day filled with insightful presentations and fruitful discussions. We look forward to continuing our collaboration to further strengthen our regional humanitarian efforts! #sgredcross

Later this week, besides our energetic Singapore Red Cross Youth contingent and faithful Community First Aiders, you'll also be seeing a very special group of volunteers at this year's National Day Parade! To commemorate 40 years of Total Defence, our volunteers will take part in a special segment of the Parade, demonstrating how we each have a role to play in times of crisis or emergency. Watch on to hear from our volunteers as they share with CNA why they do what they do — and don't forget to look out for us on Friday! #sgredcross #TD40 #SG59

Happy Health Carnival! 🎉 Last Saturday, we held our very first Health Carnival at Tuas View Dormitory, one of Singapore's largest migrant worker dormitories. With the invaluable support of volunteers from Singapore Red Cross and our partner TS Group, we engaged over 300 migrant brothers, identifying health risks through body checkups and holistic health education. 🙌🏽 #DidYouKnow that you should brush your teeth for 2 minutes, 2 times a day, in an up-and-down motion? 🤔 Well, now more of our migrant brothers know that too! Thank you to our passionate volunteers for dedicating your Saturdays to the service of our migrant worker community. ❤️ Join us in uplifting our migrant worker community today: 🤝 To volunteer: https://lnkd.in/giYwFz5B ❤️ To partner us: https://lnkd.in/gSzjpAah #HealthServe #HealthCarnival #MigrantCommunity

On Nurses Day today, we celebrate the people who exemplify compassion and humanity in their work. Babylou has been a Nursing Aide in the Red Cross Home for the Disabled for 5 years. Though far from home and family, she finds comfort and hope in the fact that her work helps others and contributes to their well-being. “During their birthday celebrations, giving them small presents or a simple cake made them realise that they are loved. These moments remind us of the importance of being with them during their special days." Read her story: https://lnkd.in/gisp8TUr #sgredcross
