The Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) collaborated with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) to co-organise an exclusive communications training with Lisa Oake, Former CNBC Asia presenter and the Founder and CEO of ExecutiveCounselling.com, on 7-Aug-2024. It was an insightful session as Lisa led us through a series of exercises and discussions on how to communicate our perspectives effectively and authentically. The SPS will continue to work with relevant stakeholders and industry partners to provide such high-quality training to our members. Singapore Psychological Society wishes everyone a meaningful National Day, as we celebrate 59 years of progress and look back at the nation we've built together 🇸🇬

The Singapore Psychological Society was represented at the International Congress of Psychology 2024 in Prague last month. Our President, Adrian Toh, and Vice-President (Outreach), Kai Chuen Mok, had an eventful and productive time at the meetings. They engaged in meaningful exchanges with international leaders at the Global Psychological Science Leadership Summit and the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) Assembly. During the congress, Adrian delivered a keynote address representing Singapore. He also participated in an invited symposium with representatives from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, discussing psychosocial interventions in crises and disasters. Additionally, as President of the ASEAN Regional Union of Psychological Societies (ARUPS), Adrian was invited to join a panel discussion on the future of psychology as a united discipline with regional leaders. These meetings provided valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration among global psychological society leaders.

We are pleased to announce the official signing of the MoU between Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) / Temasek Polytechnic | School of Humanities & Social Sciences (TP HSS) – marking our very first official partnership with a local polytechnic. Under the leadership of SPS President Adrian Toh and Vice President Kai Chuen Mok, this MOU highlights SPS’ commitment to strengthening our relationships with our Post-Secondary Education Institutions (PSEIs) and nurturing the future of our profession. This partnership will pave the way for meaningful collaboration and networking opportunities, including the potential to engage with SPS and the SPS Youth Wing, to empower students with the guidance and resources they need to excel, and to recognise the academic excellence of aspiring psychology students at the diploma level. SPS aims to enhance the vibrancy of our psychology community and ensure that students are well-equipped to navigate and contribute to the dynamic landscape of psychology today.
