Our Group Director of Operations, Luigi La Tona, MBA, was recently interviewed by FutureIoT to share about the major factors influencing self storage demand. Demand for storage space has been rising in Asia primarily due to rapid urbanisation, housing affordability challenges, a growing rental population, increased consumer awareness, the high cost of living, lifestyle changes, and shifting attitudes towards living space. In the ever-evolving landscape of storage solutions, technology plays a pivotal role in StorHub’s operations. Customers in Singapore can now book a storage unit from the comfort of their home through our online booking platform, which will be rolled out throughout our markets in the Asia Pacific including Hong Kong. Raju Ruparelia officially holds the position of Group CEO at StorHub and will be stationed at StorHub’s head office in Singapore as he leads the team in the company’s next phase of accelerated growth. We are excited to announce that Raju Ruparelia has joined as the CEO of the Company, succeeding Mike Hagbeck, the Group’s Co-founder and CEO over the past five years. Mr. Hagbeck will become the non-executive Chairman of the Company and remain a Board Director to help guide the long-term strategy and continued market expansion.   Raju brings over two decades of invaluable experience as well as a proven track record of driving business growth and transformation. In a recent interview with Singapore Business Review which highlights self storage operators introducing additional services and amenities to stand out from the crowd, our Group Director of Operations, Luigi La Tona, shared about what sets StorHub apart. He talked about our newly launched online booking system that is now up and running for all 18 of our storage facilities in Singapore, so customers can book or reserve a storage unit from the comfort of their own home or even while they’re on the go. For customers who want to rent a storage unit in a central location and get the bang for the buck, Luigi suggests that they reorganise the items that they have stored away and make the most of the high vertical spaces of StorHub’s storage units which can go up to 3.5 metres high. He also mentioned Winebanc, where wine lovers can store their wine collections at our wine storage facilities, and StorHub Lifestyle, our premium and secure self storage space designed for passionate small business owners, collectors and avid hobbyists. StorHub was recently featured in an article published by Lianhe Zaobao 联合早报 after 3 of our very own valued customers, as well as our Group Director of Operations, Luigi La Tona were interviewed by the publication. In the interview, our customers talked about how self storage has transformed their ecommerce business on Shopee, helped to preserve their limited-edition collection of sneakers and why one of them who has been with StorHub for 12 years chose to store his treasured items with us rather than upsizing his condo. The article also highlighted the key findings of our survey which revealed that 60% of Singaporeans feel that having more space at home has helped to boost their productivity, 80% of them value an additional 100 square feet of space at home which is about the size of a HDB room, while 70% have retained their home office even after COVID-19 turned endemic.
