Our digital identity is often something taken for granted; overlooked and ceded to Web2 companies to manage in exchange for convenience & product. Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) has the potential to disrupt and unlock new use cases & value models for us - but there are many primitives that have yet to be built out or are still only in the early days. It also has the potential to solve many UX problems currently facing web3 applications and wallets. In this article written by Andy Chen & Hitesh Joshi we cover: 1) The evolution of human identity from physical to digital 2) The shortcomings of existing digital identity systems 3) Self-Sovereign Identity: the next evolution of digital identity; and 4) Why blockchain is the PERFECT foundation for self-sovereign identity https://t.co/veBYWCXVCE While SSIs put the control of our data and information back in our hand it's not readily apparent what we can do with them currently.
