IBF is turning 50 this year! #ibf50 The story of IBF has been one of partnership and collaboration since its inception in 1974.   In the early years, IBF started off as a training institute. In 2001, IBF repositioned itself to take on a more strategic role of setting competency standards, and accrediting training programmes for the financial sector. In 2018, our mandate expanded to include jobs development. We have continually reinvented ourselves, and co-created many bold initiatives with the industry. Every milestone was only possible with the support of our tripartite partners.   As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary this year, we look forward to strengthening our partnerships to drive professional excellence and career resilience of the financial sector workforce. An ecosystem approach is key to transforming our shared vision for #sustainablefinance into action. We were thrilled to be at OCBC’s Grow Your Way 2024 earlier this week, where we had the opportunity to learn more about MOBI from Dr Jennifer Tan, Head of Workforce Transformation, OCBC. MOBI is OCBC’s AI career growth companion that was built off the Future Skills Accelerator (FSA), for employees to assess their skills and explore career development and mobility opportunities within the bank. IBF CEO Ms Carolyn Neo was invited to join in a Sustainable Finance Leaders panel discussion with Mr Lau Boon Ping, Deputy Chief Executive, Workforce Singapore (WSG), and Ms Elaine Lam, Head of Global Corporate Banking, OCBC, to share insights on innovative strategies, key challenges and our collective synergies to drive #sustainability in the financial services sector. Taking workforce development for #SustainableFinance to the next level 🤝🙌 We were honoured to have Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Board Member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) grace the inaugural IBF x NTUC Sustainable Finance Symposium held at National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) earlier today. Mr Tan was also the Guest-of-Honour who launched the Sustainable Finance Jobs Transformation Map (JTM) in April this year, and we are grateful to have him join us once again to witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between IBF, NTUC, The Association of Banks in Singapore, The Association of Financial Advisers (Singapore), General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIA), IMAS (Investment Management Association of Singapore), Life Insurance Association Singapore, Securities Association of Singapore and Singapore FinTech Association (SFA), to promote the implementation of Financial Sector Jobs Transformation Maps (JTMs) and align skills development efforts within the sector with future trends and sectoral needs. In his keynote address, Mr Tan highlighted how the MOU underscores the commitment of our financial sector tripartite partners in supporting the workforce development and job redesign efforts of businesses to stay competitive, as well as in providing a comprehensive support system to help employees stay adaptable and resilient in the evolving landscape. How is the Compliance landscape changing within Singapore's financial sector? In this session, we had the privilege of hearing from Rosalind Lazar, Head of Financial Crime Compliance at CIMB Singapore and IBF Fellow in Compliance, who shed light on emerging risks and the evolving Compliance landscape in the wake of AI, as well as how the same technology that can be exploited by cybercriminals, can also be used to strengthen AML processes.
