About us
The Volunteer Switchboard is a social enterprise that partners with various organisations to create impactful volunteering and giving opportunities for individuals and corporates since November 2013. We work with the organisations to understand the needs of the targeted beneficiaries and design bite-size yet purposeful volunteering programmes to create sustainable impacts to the causes that we passionately believe in – children, youth, seniors, special needs & underprivileged.

Throwback to last week when over 40 youth leaders from Special Olympics Asia Pacific (14 countries in Asia Pacific!) gathered in Singapore for “Youth for Inclusion: Expanding Unified Champion Schools." We were thrilled to host them on our "Eat, Pray, Love" tour at the Singapore River. This learning journey delved into the shared values and aspirations of Singapore, exploring how past and present generations eat, pray, and love. It was a fantastic opportunity for our international friends to enjoy the beautiful sights and scenes of Singapore too! If your organization is interested in hosting tours for your charity partners, reach out to us at [email protected]. Let's explore how we can collaborate further!
Throwback to last week when over 40 youth leaders with and without intellectual disabilities from 14 countries in Asia Pacific gathered in Singapore for “Youth for Inclusion: Expanding Unified Champion Schools”! This included India (Special Olympics Bharat), Pakistan (Special Olympics Pakistan), Australia (Special Olympics Australia), Indonesia (Special Olympics Indonesia), Thailand, the Philippines (Special Olympics Pilipinas), Papua New Guinea (Special Olympics Papua New Guinea), Fiji, Maldives, Malaysia (Special Olympics Malaysia), Singapore (Special Olympics Singapore), New Zealand (Special Olympics New Zealand), Vietnam and Bhutan. Organized by Special Olympics Asia Pacific, with support from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the United Arab Emirates, the event served as a platform for youth leaders, advocates, Special Olympics programs, as well as leaders in the private sector, to brainstorm strategies and pathways that level the playing field for people with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs) through inclusive education and community engagement. The three-day event collectively gathered over 100 participants including speakers and guests from the UAE Embassy, the UNDP, Visa, Medtronic, Bank of America, Hasbro, The Volunteer Switchboard and SpedGrow. Dipak Natali, President and Managing Director of Special Olympics Asia Pacific, said “We hope the event sparks off inspiration to collectively work towards the ultimate goal of empowering youth of all abilities, by providing them with the skills needed to thrive and work towards a more inclusive future.” #SpecialOlympics #ChooseToInclude #LeaveNoOneBehind #Inclusion #UnbeatableTogether #Change #InclusionRevolution #Empowerment

Earlier today, our CEO, Li Woon Churdboonchart, had the privilege of engaging with students from Hwa Chong Institution as part of their Service Learning Fellowship. This initiative is dedicated to empowering youths to drive innovative and sustainable solutions for our nation's most pressing issues. May our sharing inspire these young changemakers with new perspectives and fresh initiatives, empowering them to make a meaningful impact on the communities they serve. As much as we hope the sharing of our experiences and insights inspire them, we are inspired by their enthusiasm and dedication to their causes. Let's continue to foster collaboration and drive positive change together!

It's #throwbackthursday! Celebrating our 10th anniversary on 3rd December 2023, we joyously unveiled 'I am a Little Big Volunteer' children's book series and hosted a special appreciation lunch for our guests, in honour of International Volunteer Day on 5th December. Special thanks to SMS Kiat How Tan, panelists Dr. William Wan, Tony Soh, and moderator Dr Alicia Altorfer-Ong, Ph.D. for insightful discussions on 'Nurturing Character, Kindness, and Resilience in Children'. We are beyond grateful for Singapore Kindness Movement, for supporting our journey from a ground-up movement to a thriving social enterprise. Cheers to a new era of kindness and impact! #BeGreaterSG #KindnessSG #changethewaywechangetheworld Photos by: Lawrence Photography

The team at VSB will be on a 龍 company holiday from 8 Feb to 17 Feb to fully connect with our families and loved ones this Lunar New Year. We will be back with renewed energy on 18 Feb (Sun) in the new year of the Dragon for our Project Home Sweet Home!
https://lnkd.in/gn-8nywp I'm quite proud to say that Ray of Hope has been giving our teammates a company wide break at the end of December since 2020. It's not easy to plan for given the nature of charity work but we decided to continue and make sure we have enough cover throughout the closing period. Nonetheless, I believe it was necessary for the team to rest and recover for the new year. I hope more charities can give this time for folks to disconnect from work as well!
